The location is good for exploring the Lake District and the room itself was reasonably clean. Staff were polite when spoken to directly.

For £165 the overall experience was disappointing. Check-in was very unclear as it simply referred to “the Inn” without clear directions, and both myself and another guest were left waiting at the bar for quite some time while staff continued serving others without acknowledging guests trying to check in. We were told food was served until 9pm, however after queueing again to order at around 6:30pm we were then told food was no longer being served, and then told it could still be possible but with around a 90-minute wait, leaving very limited options at that time of night. The room was also located directly next to the stairs, meaning there was constant noise from guests returning late and leaving again from around 6am onwards, resulting in a poor night’s sleep. In addition, there appeared to be a leak coming from either the fan or air conditioning unit in the room.

Location right on edge of Lake Windermere by boat piers. Big pub garden, good food, rooms were quiet with comfy beds. Bathrooms are a little tired but benefits outweigh this. Good hearty breakfast, lots of choice. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and helpful. Parking onsite behind rooms.
