Hotel Metropolitan

Perfect location, wonderful staff, fabulous breakfast and lovely room terrace.

The junior Suite was in a inside yard with a small sitting out area. The room was very quiet considering it was in the middle of the city. The room was comfortable, but there was no real cupboard. The bathroom was large and well appointed. The breakfast buffet had a good selection and the service was quick and efficient. The hotel is around 15 minutes from the train Station, and five minutes from the centre of town.

Considering the room was a Junior Suite, a cupboard and a sofa would have been expected.

We love this hotel and this was our second visit. They have renovated several of the rooms which it makes it even better. Great breakfast with attentive staff. Great beds and spotless rooms. Nice bathroom with good shower. You can walk to this hotel from the train station or take a taxi for approximately 15 Euro. Would definitely stay again.

How close the hotel was to the centre. A big enough bed for my very tall husband and good air conditioning. Lovely rooftop bar and towels were refreshed every day.

More personal, but that the bathroom was open to the rest of the room. Toilet did have a door but with semi transparent glass so you could see when someone was in there and hear everything! Also, could have just been me, but the water or something in the shower had a very strange smell almost like burning or something.

Very comfortable, clean and quiet hotel just off Main Street so very well situated for sightseeing , restaurants etc. very good breakfast with lovely staff. Reason a 4 and not a 5 - packed breakfast on first morning very dull - yoghurt with no soon and dry crackers with butter and jam but no knife - would be very easy to provide something better. Also, charged 10 euros for 2 bottles of water on check out but no information given in the room about charges and one bottle not consumed but couldn’t rebate as already charged - not very impressed. Also superior room had not much natural light 110

Unfortunately it is not a 4 star hotel… I recently traveled to Bologna with my husband. We booked a standard room în Metropolitan Hotel. It was the worst room design we have ever seen. Everything dark grey. The floor was plain cement, dyed with some sort of oil paint in dark grey. They used the same paint on all the walls up to the ceiling. I have never seen a 4 star hotel with cement floors before, no rugs, nothing. They told us it is because of “allergies”…. I am a doctor specialised in allergies, but I have never advised my patients to move in a cement cave! There are so many options, like a warm wooden floor for example. Because of that oil paint the walls can not breathe, and the entire room had a stale air. The bathroom had the cheapest fixtures ever, there was mold on the wall under the sink. The toilet was too close to the sink so you had to sit side ways ….We asked for another room, even if we have to pay extra, but we were told there is nothing available. The next day we were offered another room, but as we wanted to see it first, the receptionist told us the room has the same desing, except for a small balcony and a better view….so we passed. Then we were offered some cards for free drinks which we also refused, because we can not be bought with a few drinks…. Sorry, I would never ever go back….
