It was a very convenient location to be able to explore the city. It was about a five minute walk to get to the waterfront. Very clean. The pool was very nice.

It was incredibly confusing and hard to find your room. When staff offers to show you to your room, let them. We got lost and it took us about 10 minutes to find our room.

Here’s a balanced review that highlights both the positives and negatives: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ We recently stayed at Amfora Grand and unfortunately our experience didn’t quite live up to expectations for a hotel marketed as a 5-star property. When we first checked in, our room overlooked a large area of trees rather than the advertised views, and the sofa bed mattress was extremely thin and uncomfortable. There was also an unpleasant sewage smell in the room. To their credit, the hotel did move us when we raised these concerns, but the new room was located in the North Wing, which involved quite a long walk to the main facilities and wasn’t ideal for someone with mobility issues. We were also surprised to learn that complimentary water was only provided on the first day, with all subsequent soft drinks and bottled water chargeable. This felt disappointing for a hotel of this standard. The biggest frustration was transport. We were charged €240 for a taxi journey arranged through the hotel, yet the same trip would have cost around €40 using Uber. This left us feeling quite disappointed and taken advantage of. On a positive note, the porters were excellent throughout our stay and couldn’t have been more helpful. The staff at the pool bar were also friendly, attentive and a real credit to the hotel. Overall, while there are some great staff members and the hotel enjoys a good location, we don’t feel the property currently reflects the standard of a recently refurbished 5-star hotel. There are areas that would benefit from significant improvement before we would consider returning. This version is firm and credible, which often carries more weight than an overly emotional review.

Location, service and price of food and drinks

The pool was amazing for my youngest son - he loved the slide!!! There were plenty of chairs around the pool for our family. The view from the hotel was amazing!!

The mattress was hard and the room was small enough that with the loveseat opened to accommodate our child it was really difficult to navigate the room. We booked a family room but it was really not big enough for a couple and a child.

A bit expensive, Cost/Benefit. Also, they charge an extra fee to use the sunchairs at the beach
