Discovery Resorts – Cradle Mountain

Staff were friendly, property clean and had all the comforts needed. Greeted by a mother and baby wombat as we drove up to our accommodation

The cabins are beautifully placed so that each one feels private and overlooks the trees. We were visited by native animals.

The location was great, and the cabin size was perfect for our family - but, heated blankets on the bunk beds would’ve been nice!! It got incredibly cold through the night and the kids woke up asking for more blankets. No complaints, other than that.

Great location and comfortable chalet. Easy access and with privacy. Kids loved the layout and visit from the wildlife around the national park. Fully contained kitchen, remember to bing grocery if intended to cook onsite.

everything was wonderful except the check-in via the restaurant - unfriendly, seemed like we were "bothering" them. Real shame 'cos everything else was excellent

We stayed in a Spa Cottage for 2 nights in over the new year. Although we didn't spend much time in the room as we spent it all in the National Park, we were impressed with the room. The room was large and comfortable with a great shower and a large spa bath in the middle of the room. Also an area directly inside the door to remove wet, dirty clothing and shoes before entering the main room which is a good touch. Saw quite a bit of wildlife as well which was nice. The village is very close to the visitor center where you catch the shuttle bus which was very convenient. Cottages are well spaced apart so good privacy and no noise issues. Also car spot right out the front. Best part of the stay was the onsite restaurant Hellyers. There is not a lot of choice when it comes to food options in the National Park, but the food we got from Hellyers was nothing short of sensational. Best eye-fillet I have ever had and just all around great food, service and price. I would definitely stay again and hope to do so in the future.

The best value for money hotel among the very limited options available in cradle mountain. Rooms are very spacious, tastefully decorated with a lovely balcony. Cooking facilities are excellent if you choose to do so; otherwise, the hotel features a restaurant

Quiet location, as the same suggests it’s in the wilderness

Very nice place to stay as the base for the adventuring into the Cradle mountain, practically right in front of the tourist centre. My husband and I stayed at the chalet with the spa overlooking the bush which was very nice. Having no internet access at the chalet took some time to get used to but was good because it meant we could watch DVDs and talk and enjoy our company like the old way. Recommend highly.
