Discovery Resorts – Cradle Mountain

The Premier spa cabin was wonderful. The spa was very private and had a huge window looking out to the wilderness.

The restaurant was amazing great food and wine supporting Tasmania, the location was fantastic just down the road from the information centre and access to the mountain.

Very comfortable cabin. Restaurant was average. Had run out of vegetables - so no side dishes of vegetables to accompany main courses.

After a long drive we arrived at 2pm which was the time in the details of the booking for check in and were told that was the incorrect time and we should come back in an hour. It was suggested we go to the visitor centre to pass the time. The confirmation email also said the restaurant would not be open on Sunday when we stayed so we went out and got groceries only to find out that was incorrect information as well and the restaurant was open. After going away and coming back at three we were given keys to a basic room instead of the premium spa room we booked. So we had to drive all the way back to reception to get the right room. Other than the terrible service received initially the room was nice and we had a good time, but spent most of our time at Cradle Mountain Lodge down the road, so will probably just stay there next time.

Whilst the property was clean and quite nice, it was really overpriced for what it was. We paid $345 for one night. The cabin didn't even have a spa and there was no breakfast included.

Wonderful, quiet, relaxing stay. Could use a new couch, as wasn't comfortable but overall it was a great place to stay.

The accommodation was very comfortable and perfect for our needs. The Possums and Potaroos were easily spotted from our verandah. Hellyers Restaurant, next to the Reception, offered lovely meals and there was a great Happy Hour of selected Tasmanian wines and beers. This accommodation was very convenient to the Visitor Information Centre from where the Shuttle buses leave to go to the various Walking Track locations. Definitely a great place to stay.

Nice two bedroom cabin with good heating. Very clean. Highly recommended.

Spacious and had all the amenities required. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant. Staff were great.

Our accommodation was very nice & had the comfort level we required. Obviously not luxurious but in a setting like this you expect more cosy than luxury. Restaurant was excellent, staff, food atmosphere top notch. Reception staff on our arrival very efficient too.
