It's a lovely OLD hotel so it's a little tired looking but the room was clean and the staff were excellent!

Balcony was little, narrow. We excepted wider windows because when we booked the room from the hotel (not using booking.com etc) and wanted the seawiev (what we get) we did not ask any price and accepted your prices. Breakfast was good but the same every day, maybe some variations shoul be good. 💛Staff was very friendly. At reception qnd breakfast room🌹Waitress 🫶 (with fast movements cleaning tables) was very very polite,smiling and nice. The man🫶 behind the breakfast table was very smiling and gave good energy with his smile and helpfulness. He even noticed that juice glass was little bit broken and changed it. Location is good and historical. Our room was very nicely decorated (nice suprise!).😍 Cleaning was always good and proper., staff friendly🫶 I liked a lot to have new towels every day❤️

We are regular visitors to Nice and typically rent an apartment, but on this occasion we needed a one night stop on our itinerary. We chose The Royal based on location, which is ideal to explore Nice. We also wanted a sea view, which did not disappoint. The reception team on check in and check out were warm and professional. The room however, was tired and run down with stains on every surface - the carpet, the ceiling, the walls, the furniture. The bathroom had a new-ish sink and everything else was worn - chose not to take a shower. Balcony was dirty with crumbs of food. King bed was comfortable enough but only 2 pillows provided, so not ideal to read or watching tv. Basic kettle with teabags, no coffee facilities. Bottle of spring and sparkling water and box of cookie offered were complimentary. We didn’t partake of the breakfast at €18/person. We paid approximately $400.00 cad for the evening and while not crazy money for the location, based on the one thing that ultimately counts - the room - certainly not a bargain. Would not return.
