Ocean Shores Inn & Suites

Both nights we were in between two rooms of related people who were very loud and not at all concerned about anyone around the. Rooms 111 and 115. 115 was frying something on Friday after midnight causing the smoke alarm to go off over and over again

The faucet, showerhead and controls were wiggling and not secured to the wall. Rust everywhere it could be on every metal surface, sink handle came off/was loose, mold all over the unit on the ceilings and walls. Window opened but no screen. Black widow spiders making a spider web every night across the door. Curtains don't give full privacy, towels are small and stained, returned multiple that still had stains after requesting new ones. Fridge was failing so it was really loud all night. Door to get through area for multiple units was difficult to open and slammed any time someone used it, very frequently. Big mistake staying here

I'm truly surprised that this is even a company that you advertise for a room it is very unsanitary and unhealthy which makes it unsafe..

Thank you for the opportunity to discuss the hotel stay. I am dissatisfied with my stay on many levels. The only pleasant part of the trip was the staff at arrival and getting time with my family. I booked this hotel to have some family time with my daughters and grandchildren. This was our first official get away since my recovery from my stroke this last year. I was excited to get family time and a nice place to stay. When paying over $200 per night I expected to get a hotel that I can at least enjoy a little more than a place to go at night. We arrived at the hotel to a very weird smell; like mold, cleaning products, and food. The smell remained the entire time, each time we re-entered the hotel it was a slap in the face. The couch that was a sleeper sofa (thank god we did not need it as a bed) was so hard that it was nearly impossible to sit on for more than a short time. The middle had a metal bar running through it when you sat, it clunked, and the cushions were depleted of any “cushion” like features. While in the living room we saw a rather large dead moth sitting right to the side of the couch just at the front of the end table where any traditional vacuum when used would have reached. The kitchen was fine. The beds were very lumpy and springs were very evident. Pillows were so hard and lumpy. We all struggled to get comfortable enough to sleep the first night and woke with neck, shoulder, and back pain. We all ended up buying a pillow at the dollar general down the street just to use for the second night. The bathroom was very dinging, although pictures of the bathrooms appeared clean. The molding was dirty, dingy, and almost looked like it had mold. My grandson took a shower the first morning and said that water was stuck in the tub with him. He said it was draining but not very well. It looked dingy enough that the remaining members of our family did not want to even shower while we were there and the grandson would not use it the second day.

Not much. Worst place I've ever stayed.

Dirty, smelly, run down, unprofessional, uncomfortable, uninviting, not useful. Trashy. Dirty, cluttered lobby. Smelly room, dirty room, worn hodge podge furniture, tvs were weird. The one in the living room is on the wall super high. The couch has a weird cover, the chair has a stain on it. Coffee tables are bed side drawers, the TV in the room is 20 monitor that doesnt work. The towels in the bathroom are so old and haven't been white in a long time. The shower head trickled water. I had to scruch under the faucet. Weird. They didn't clean anything. Just made the bed. I would never recommend. The property is so worn down. Dirty siding, falling apart.

There was a functional kitchen with some pots and dishes. There was an electric fireplace that gave minimal heat but it was an odd type of fireplace.

This inn is extremely dated and in need of a complete major remodel and update. Maintenance needs to be done in all parts of the hotel. Walls need to be pressure washed and painted. Beams, trim, and stairs need to be sanded, treated, painted and/or replaced. The room was somewhat clean but had an old and moldy smell. The towels in the bathroom need to be replaced with actual bath sized towels. The only bath sized towels were the smallest bath towels on the planet. They were the size of a large hand towel. The TV in the room was not working and wouldn't connect to any network. The Tv in the living room was working, but the channel streaming was very slow and kept stopping and rebuffering, then it kept freezing and we would have to close the apps and restart. There was no free local station. Just a Roku system but you will need to log into any of your own personal accounts to be able to use it. (Please remember to log out of your account before you leave!) It was too cold to use the outdoor pool but was happy there was an indoor pool. To my surprise, the water for the pool was extremely warm and I was excited to give it a go. Low and behold, there were no additional pool towels you only had use the mini bath towels in your room to use. My happiness did not last long because left by the pool side was a bloated baby diaper. Just soaking up the pool water splashing against the rim. I tried to pick it up to throw away and it was so soaked, gel beads came pouring out. It was disgusting and Maintenance nor staff was there to clean or take out. (Shame on room guests for leaving their unhygienic mess for others.🤮 I think they have some people that actually live in the rooms like apartments. Then, early in the morning there was a dog that was barking and crying non stop for at least 3 hours. Like someone brought their dog and then left them in their room and it barked until owner came back. Just ghetto vibes from beginning to end.

The staff were very friendly. The front desk assistant helped extended our stay.
