Barefoot Resort & Yacht Club

This place is absolutely beautiful. Beautiful view (Yacht view).All is up the date furniture. Beds are comfortable, well taken care of and clean. Staff are friendly and fast check in. Free parking and the place has a elevator. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. I highly recommend this place, you will not regret it.

For being a repeat customer and having lived on the property as well I was extremely disappointed and had an extremely disrespectful full time resident next to my unit That had loud television playing until 3am daily Slept extremely poorly daily for my stay

On day one we had a lot of issues getting into the resort. We had the instructions for the later check-in, but could not figure out where the gate we needed was since each building seemed to have its own gate code but for some reason, the last two were on the same entry which we did not know. Finally, get to the room, and housekeeping latched the security latch and we are unable to get into our room. Before that the code did not even work to unlock the door, not that it mattered once it was unlocked. No rooms were available so we drove 30 minutes to another room at another resort courtesy of Barefoot and this room was a mess. The carpet was torn up, stains on the walls, curtains were all torn up and stained. It was a place to lay our heads for the night, the company was good cause we made it into an adventure, and the staff was nice the following morning when we finally got checked into another room, but overall it was a little unpleasant experience. We got some food vouchers and a later checkout, it was unsure or not about comping the first night, but overall if you stay at Barefoot I would recommend you do not do after-hours check-in. Check-in when someone is at the front desk to have things handled in case this happens again. The rooms are nice, again the front desk was understanding of what we went through, just seemed a little disorganized and not what you want to deal with after a three-hour trip and two hours unable to get into a room.

We were very worried about staying here based on the other reviews listed but after checking in i have no idea how anyone couod not like this place! The rooms are huge, very clean, beautiful views,well kept and i would totally stay here again and never second guess. You need to understand this is a condo....not a hotel so come prepaired.

We stayed 4 days. Upon entering we were pleased w/the aesthetics BUT then we started really looking around. The sheets& comforter was soiled, stools for the island we splintered (if someone sat on it they would’ve possibly cause serious injury. Bathrooms barely passible. Stains on sofa, carpets, walls & the dishes should’ve been thrown away a long time ago. I TOOK LOTS OF PICTURES OF EVERYTHING bc we didn’t want to be accused of anything. We informed the staff at checkout. We paid $1500 for 4 days. We live in Chicago so we had no other options. We had to buy bedding & luckily bc of Covid we brought cleaning & sanitizing products. Bugs were in the headboard. They weren’t bed bugs though. It WAS ALL AROUND TERRIBLE. Expedia should never advertise this property or maybe it’s just this unit. But the picture I have tell the story. Don’t do this people unless they update the unit.

Upon opening the door (in the dark) it looked nice and very spacious. Then we turned on the lights. Black markings all over the walls in almost every room made it very apparent that this residence was very abused and not maintained. The floors leading into the dining and living area were dirty and you could deal how dingy they were when walking on them. Holes in the wall by the tv and back sliding glass door and then paint pealing near the ceiling gave it a frat-house feel and not a family one. Upon sitting on the couch we were confronted with nasty stains on the pillows so we quickly moved those aside. The master bedroom had a king sized bed with black splatter stains on the flat sheet and the fitted sheet was placed on the bed inside out. The master bath had no shower curtain, tiny black hair clippings on the wall and what appeared to be small curly hairs as well. The kids bedroom tv remote had no batteries and one of the beds had hair on the inside of the sheets. When I attempted to check out the patio/balcony area I noticed that the light didn’t work. During the day I saw that garbage had been left out there. The beds were so hard that nobody was able to sleep and on the second night we had to but mattress pads from Walmart. I went to complain and was told they were booked so we couldn’t change rooms but they would send someone to clean. Nobody came! Horrible and will never go back. If the property manager had been helpful maybe but they offered nothing.

Worst vacation in my life. Paid over $500 dollars a night for a dirty apartment beds were not made, toilet was leaking couch was old dirty and musty with stains. Carpet was dirty beds were hard as rocks no TV cable in all rooms no channels, no internet, broken microwave oven, Staff was unfriendly. Made me pay $180 for housekeeping that was nonexistent. Rude Receptionists. Never received my $25 dollar credit for purchases at stores. Did not give me pool keys. Overpriced outdated. Was moved to another villa next day but the first night was horrible. Never will return to Myrtle Beach again. Paid $1800 dollars for 3 nights.
