"Not a good experience."

Overnighting on road trip. Asked for better rate in-house. Said could but charged more. Hot tub not working. Small TV. Final - window in room had a large break in it. Refused refund. Had to wait for new room. On return, night manager refuses refund. Tells us what a great deal we are getting. Tells us we are being "ignorant". Calls manager, who refuses refund. When I asked if I could speak w/manager on phone I was told no, already disturbed his evening. (No thought about *our* evening). When I said he could call me anytime next day he reversed and said he would process refund next day. He did not. 1 week later, call property for last chance. Jose is only reason rating went from 1 to 3. He apologized and said he would process refund, which he did. Customer service is more than smiling as you check someone in. The 2 "manager" can't train what they don't know themselves.

The hotel staff are trying hard but the first room they put me in had a filthy unflushed toilet. They assigned a new room that was handicapped accessible and clean but had a very noisy air conditioner. This hotel is convenient and safe for a single woman so I’ll continue to stop here - but hope they can continue with their improvements.

"The only good thing was the filtered water they had in the lobby."

Location

It was very hot in the hotel. No elevator, very unclean, hard beds. In our room, the tiles in the floor were coming up, the grout was falling out. Out of conditioner with the first shower. Ask them to replace it that morning. The next morning when my daughter was getting ready to have a shower, it had not been replaced. Grateful we were only there two days. I’d never go back here again.

False advertising. It was a Rodeway Inn but now owned by Quality Inn & Suites. No elevator was a problem. It wasn't very clean. Our key didn't work and it took a while to get a new room.

"Okay for a quick, cheap sleep"

Check in was wonderful. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and suggested some local restaurants that were open on the holiday. The room was okay. You could tell the rooms have been painted recently but done very poorly. Bed was comfy. AC unit was old and was very noisy and could barely keep up. The lady working the front desk at check out was very unprofessionally dressed wearing a T-shirt, short shorts and flip flops and was handling food at breakfast with a napkin over her fingers instead of gloves.

"Got left out to dry"

I made a prepaid reservation for the Quality Inn Salina directly on the Choice Hotels website about a month in advance. When I arrived, the person at the front desk said "the system could not assign me a room." Apparently the computer was having issues. He called a manager, but was apparently told there was nothing to be done and that I should look into booking a different a different hotel. I calmly tried to explain to him that given it was a prepaid reservation, if they indeed had no rooms that I should get my money back. He looked a bit flustered and said there was nothing he could do, but that I should call Choice Hotels to work out a refund, and that I could use the lobby to make the calls. Quite frustrated, I quickly left and drove over to the Econo Lodge down the street to get a room. A few minutes after settling into my new room, I got a call from a manager from the Quality Inn saying that they indeed had a room for me after all and that the person at the front desk was new. I explained to him that I already got a room and that what I really needed was a refund. He said he'd look into it and that I should call Choice, which I did the following day. The representative from Choice said she instructed the hotel to issue me a refund, but it has never showed. I really don't care about the refund at this point, but I'm hoping this property can get it together. I can't comment on the actual room, but based on my experience, I would recommend to stay far away from this Quality Inn.
