"Dump"

1.0

Nothing.

Couldn't use shower as it leaked to room below, cold room, rotten windows, broken furniture, food left from previous occupant. We didn't pay a lot, so our expectations were not high, but still managed to disappoint us.

"Dolphin hotel"

7.0

The room was clean, bedding was clean and beds were made up. It was ok for a night, although I'm not sure I would have stayed any longer.

The hotel was very dated and in some places the disrepair was obvious, The front desk clerk was quite abrupt, not very polite and wasn't very welcoming, there was no lift to the upper floors, no attempt to show us where our room was.

"30 ish pound a night for a reason"

3.0

The guy on reception was polite and friendly The location is good, close to the pier and sea I had a big room and bathroom The bedding and towels looked pretty clean Was tea and coffee in the room and lots of miniature shampoos

The photos on booking.com need updating, I recon they are at least 10 years out of date, maybe 15! The hotel is in need of a full restoration. There was next to no staff, heard they only had 1 cleaner, this was pretty obvious as the carpets were filthy, the floors the walls the doors were filthy, windows boarded up. The furniture was damaged/broken, couple of properties to the left was burned down, could possibly happen to this hotel eventually as some electrical plugs and wires looked a bit outdated. Nothing in the photos is how it looks now, that red carpet is nearly brown, the seating area in reception now has gray chairs, unfortunately 1 of them is missing the legs (possibly stolen) The reception area was dirty, was 2 old batteries sat on the side and 1 on the floor, was still there when checked out. WiFi was not always working, but that was free. There was a issue with the tv Ariel so couldn’t watch tv The bar area is no longer a bar it’s a dumping ground, and the rear garden looked like the Amazon rainforest! Few bits of rubbish out on the roof top, empty bottle of vodka and some other bits, few bits rubbish out the front, mainly beer cans. Rooms are unlocked with an actual key, and some windows were easily accessible via metal fire stairs so didn’t feel very safe. During the stay there was someone banging on all the doors on 1 floor to see who was in what room (possibly staking them out to rob) if anyone answered he said sorry I got ADHD and walked off! No food options (not that you would of eat in there) Wouldn’t recommend the hotel for families/children, but if you’re desperate for a room for the night and there’s no where else, for £38 you’ll stay dry. Checked out after 1 night, just was not right for me

Location

No bin in room Room was on the top floor (3rd floor) no lift and due to mobility issues I struggled to get upstairs. Zero parking and again mobility issues made it harder to walk to hotel.

"Never again"

3.0

Very close proximity to the beach and seafront

Photos on booking.com are very outdated! There is no bar, there is no breakfast, the hotel felt more like a hostel, the hallways had not been cleaned, the toilets near reception had no locks on the doors, the room doors all had physical keys, it felt unsafe. The furniture was either old dirty or broken. Some windows were boarded up. The garden was just left overgrown, I don’t know how you would access it. I checked out after 1 night
