Room was clean and comfortable

Noise in the late evening

It was quiet and was able to leave bags at the hotel before booking in tv worked

It’s a big catfish the rooms I shared are the actual rooms!!! so the rooms on booking.com are a LIE the bed was broken the room had damp the shower was pointing out to wall not down to bath. The toilet was constantly noisy when flushed. The mattress is as cheap as can be that you will squeak when rolling over and feeling all the springs the covers were mucky

Nothing on this occasion

We arrived on the 1st of March for our much awaited break away only to find a run down hotel, starting with an over flowing extremely smelling skip out the front entrance with seagulls scavenging on top of the skip spreading rubbish all over the car park, and then when in side we found many other customers waiting to be booked in and out with no one on reception. After waiting and looking around for staff for over half an hour I decided to use the restroom by reception and found a bathroom that clearly hadn’t been cleaned for several days maybe longer with overflowing bins and actual faeces on the toilet seat. We then proceeded to look else where for accommodation then realised that there was another hotel (the Colton) across the road that we believed were owned by the same company who where very helpful and found us a room on the spot at no extra charge. How ever I did complain to them about our finds at there sister hotel and apon leaving to go home on the 4th I decided to revisit the dolphin hotel to see if anything had been done and the toilets had not been touched, there was still faeces on toilets and rubbish everywhere, a truly disgusting beginning to our holiday. We are including images of this that we showed the staff at the Colton and we will not be staying at the dolphin hotel ever again a hotel us and our family have used for over 20 years

We stayed Friday to Monday the hotel staff were absolutely lovely we had a stain on our sheet and the immediately sorted it out we brought our dog as well and the staff was so kind to him hotel is right near wellington pier and near the beach will definitely be coming back again all in all a lovely weekend away most of the cafes and restaurants were dog friendly also the arcades and beach perfect if you have a fury friend you want to bring along they was also very accommodating to my Nan’s needs and needing to be on the ground floor and we was all placed near each other on the ground floor

After booking our stay then reading the reviews, we were expecting dirty hotel but was shocked as hotel clean and tidy just needs updating so please don’t be put off about the reviews. Stayed May 2026

Just needed updating

It was very spacious and well located. The staff were very friendly the brief moment we did interact with them. Beds were comfortable and amenities were clean.

The only issue we had was the shower tap was stuck on. We didn’t notice this when first checked in as had to run off to play at a festival in Norwich. However when we came back the bathroom was a full on sauna and no matter how much we tried to turn the water off it just wouldn’t stop.

Location was great but needs work

On the night of our arrival there was a disturbance outside our room when I looked through the spy hole there were up to 12 persons trying to kick in a door this lasted a good hour, nearly rang the police, in the morning a tradesmen of sorts was repairing the door, and on asking him and reception told we don't know anything about it. My wife and I nearly checked out and came home, and on asking another member of staff who still seemed not to know anything about it. Don't think we will be going back to the Dolphin / Comfort as both outside signage isn't a true reflection of the Hotel. It also looks like building work is ongoing and areas of this location are out of bounds, surely this work should have been done out of season, when closed.
