James Place Inn Bed and Breakfast

Bathroom was too small

This B and B was outstanding for attention to detail, immaculate condition and cleanliness. Their breakfast was delicious with a start of fresh fruit and scones, and a great breakfast burrito that day. A short walk to LLBean, it’s near all the attractions in Freeport. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. It was a real pleasure to stay there!

Our hosts were most gracious. Accommodated my gluten allergy with exceptional GF menu. Would definitely recommend this place for a stay in Freeport.

The breakfast was unique and delicious. There was plenty of food and hot coffee. The location was perfect. We walked into town easily. We found lots of shopping, great restaurants and breweries. We liked the shared refrigerator and the glass bottles of water.

The rooms and bathrooms were on the smaller side but we didn’t really mind because we were mostly there to sleep. I would recommend that chair cushions are offered for breakfast in the outside patio. Also we didn’t realize that the letters in the bedroom doors were the first letter of the names of the rooms (rose, yellow, etc.) A couple of times people started to enter the wrong rooms. Maybe having the whole room name in the door would be helpful.

The property has that vintage New England charm with an outside deck and firepit. It is very accessible to Freeport. You can quickly enjoy the shops and restaurants. In the summer you can catch LL Bean’s summer concert series which we did. Very cool.

No negative comments. Love the place.

It was great ! The hosts were friendly and receptive to our needs. You can feel the extra care they give to making you feel at home. And breakfast was amazing. They even take special requests.
