Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu

My brother, nephew, and I celebrate our birthdays in October. This year we thought of bringing our elderly parents and his wife to Cebu for our birthday. The hotel is around 30 minutes from the airport, and we were greeted with welcome drinks while we waited for our rooms to be prepared and our bags carried by the staff. We enjoyed the afternoon in the sunny swimming pool and protected beach front, and made friends with some of our fellow guests. The breakfast buffet was superb, with a lot of choices of cuisines to choose from. Our stomachs were full before we embarked to our tour adventure in the main island of Cebu. Going back to the hotel from the main island costs us around P 350 (inclusive of tip to the driver), but it was worth coming back to our safe haven. Chocolate hour was made for sweet tooth like me, and I enjoyed all the white and milk chocolate served with cakes and marshmallows while blissfully ate it at the pool area. The staff were particularly approachable and kind to us. Even in the wee hours of the night they help me get connected to their WiFi in order for me to finish my work. Special mention to Ken, Josh, Kammy, Kit, and that one receptionist who helped me that night with the internet connection. Weekends are particularly fun as the staff enamored us with their talents in singing and dancing. I hope they are getting paid extra for doing this for all of us. The service is impeccable. The staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. They have lots of recommendations. The beach and pool are lovely to swim in and there are cabanas. The breakfast buffet is well worth the money with so many options. The hotel rooms are a little dated but very clean and have everything you need - most importantly the beds are comfortable! The dancing entertainment was excellent, amazing singers and dancers. We ordered from the ‘local’ section of the restaurant menu and it was delicious! We are so glad we chose this resort and not the places close which don’t have private beaches. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Upon arrival and right up until my departure the staff have been amazing. Welcoming, friendly, always happy to help. Room was lovely. Not sure when but I will definitely come here again.

This resort is absolutely beautiful, but what truly makes it special are the people. The staff — especially Chantel, Josh, Lester, Gio, BG, Conrad, Marjorie and Cyril the Chef— went above and beyond every day. They even prepared Filipino delicacies just for me that weren’t on the buffet. Their kindness, attention, and genuine care made this the best hospitality we’ve ever experienced anywhere in the world

Interesting hotel, not worth the money. Service excellent. Rooms tiny, with condensation problems (wet floors and steamed up mirrors). Balconies are postage stamp size. Don't order pasta arabiatta, the amount of chilli would kill an elephant. Food & beverage way too expensive (Shangrila Hotel is same F&B prices, but 100 times a better hotel). A beer is P230, that's a rip off. Not even cold. A coffee is P230, that's a rip off. However, no point to stay at a hotel when you have to venture outside for coffee, beer, food. Oh, be warned, the taxi driver will try to charge P550 to take you to the Airport from Mövenpick. He sees a wealthy tourist and doubles his price.

The staff of the Movenpick are what make it really delightful. They are uniformly attentive, efficient, and personable. I found the service standard of the Movenpick to be absolutely superior and unrivaled. I was particular impressed by restaurant employees such as Angelene B., whose kindness and personal initiative bring real distinction to the hotel. The Movenpick's managers have clearly recruited and trained an expert team. I enthusiastically recommend this exemplary hotel.

Nice location. Close to the airport and the new town . Morning glory, a well known restaurant, is just across the street. Rooms seem a little bit old but maintained well. Employees are kind.

We had a very nice stay! Very good hotel, perfect swimming pool and very good restaurant. The service was really nice, especially thanks to Kathleen, Lester and Michelle. I can only recommend the hotel!
