Hard to use banister

I absolutely loved the way the house was decorated for Christmas. I particularly loved the painted mural in the dining room with all the dachsunds and other cats and dogs. There were dachsunds throughout the house and I thought of the idea for guests to guess how many there were as a fun activity, and Paula informed me that she does that when childen stay at the house. Christmastime is the best time to stay in lovely Victorian inns like this one, which had 3 Christmas trees. It was quite cold outside the weekend we stayed there (first weekend in Jan), so it was very nice to sit beside the fireplace. We enjoyed the wine & cheese served after 3 pm. It was nice to sit in the sun room out front; there was a mini fireplace heater that we sat next to. We loved the location; it was about 10 min walking distance from the Washington Street shops and 2 blocks in from Beach Ave and we were fortunate to catch the lovely sunset on the beach There was no problem parking out front (free parking). Paula alternates between sweet and savory breakfasts, and we had the privilege of having both. Savory was a delicious panini ham, egg & cheese sandwich with a side of spinach and blueberries. Sweet was a waffle drizzled with (cream cheese?) icing and covered with fresh raspberries & blueberries with a side of strawberries and sausages, plus chocolate banana muffin. Both breakfasts were delicious. Our family of 3 stayed in a room with full and twin beds.

The full-size bed was not as comfortable as I'd hoped it would be and the room was very cold from the time we returned to our room after dinner (8ish) until about 10 pm. After that, I didn't need anything but a sheet to keep me warm.

Beautifully decorated - especially for Christmas. Owner and staff were attentive and made you feel welcome. Location was convenient to the beach and downtown.

Loved the atmosphere. Breakfast was amazing. The place was conveniently located within walking distance to shopping and restaurants.
