"Great Location on a quiet street steps from bustling Commercial St. Close toT'Dance"

10.0

A group of us from West Hollywood came to P'Town for Labor Day long weekend. I had never been before so did not know what to expect. The Revere Guest House made the trip so special. The breakfast alone was worth the price of admission. Room was great, Paul, Allison and Jonathon were amazing and extremely helpful in guiding to many hot spots around the area. Even offering advice on trails to bike and beaches to go to. The location cannot be beat. If you're going to TDance it's just down the street. Revere Guest House is on a quiet side street from the bustling Commercial St where all the action is. We used the fire pit nightly over a bottle of wine and good conversation with other guests who would top by. Do yourself a favor and book a room here. You won't be disappointed. We already pre-booked for next year. Can't wait for those delicious eggs and coffee every morning.

"Charming for a quick getaway"

Very friendly staff in a charming guest house. My room would've been small for more than 1 person, but it was fine for a solo trip. Good breakfast set up, fantastic ocation. Would definitely stay again.

"Cute place, but openly hostile to Veterans with service animals."

5.0

The property is nicely maintained, overall. The room was well-appointed although very tiny with not enough places to put things. Comfortable bed, but unfortunately had microfiber sheets (100% polyester) instead of cotton. The air conditioning unit although musty-smelling, worked very well and quietly. It was convenient to be able to get water or wine glasses/opener right in the hall and just put the dishes on a dresser top outside our room. Towels were small but extremely clean and fluffy. The best part of this place is the location and the breakfast. It's very quiet, up a small street between the two major streets (Commercial and Bradford). It's close to everything fun! The breakfast was really a highlight - freshly baked little muffins, cut fruit, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, nuts, coffee, tea, a different breakfast scramble every weekday with the addition of homefries and absolutely perfect bacon on the weekend.

Small annoyances, like sticky microfiber sheets, musty AC, a second floor entry door that was very loud to close, and a small room are really just that - small, and inconvenient but would not be dealbreakers. The reason we rated Revere Guesthouse as just a 5 was the incredibly rude and hostile reception from Paul the innkeeper upon our arrival. My partner has a service animal, registered and trained, as my partner is a US Navy veteran with diagnosed PTSD. This is a small dog, mind you. This is not an emotional support animal. The dog is quiet, clean, and crucial to my partner's mental well-being and PTSD treatment. Paul could not have been any ruder about the dog. He tried to trick us into admitting it was just an emotional support dog. And then admitted he tried to trick us into saying so. It's a registered service animal. I was dumbfounded as he ranted about the rules regarding service animals. It was insanely hostile. His face turned bright red and he would stop mid-rant, demanded my partner make eye contact with him as he read us all the rules. All very standard rules that we easily follow at all places we've stayed. We have never encountered someone treating an actual veteran this way. He threatened to "remove you immediately from the property with no refund" if we broke any of the rules. He would stop after a minute and say things like, "is this clear to you?" "I want your full and undivided attention." "Come away from your car and stand here." "I need you to make eye contact with me." It's hard to describe how awful it was. It colored our entire stay there and made both of us quite anxious in the property. If we didn't have the service dog, it would probably have been pleasant. Knowing what kind of person Paul is to treat a veteran so badly, I wouldn't give the place business.
