The Shelby Inn

Convenient location. Not a lot of hotel options for the area. Best option of those available. Non contact checkin and checkout. Communications done via text messages. Issues resolved without delay.

TV didn't work in first room. I was given another room with no issues.

We have been staying here for a few years now. Clean, friendly staff, great location. We bring our boat every time and they have a lot next-door for hookup and parking. They recently changed to electronic/virtual check in which makes check-in a breeze! The Shelby is our go-to place to stay!

Great little Inn. Clean and well attended. Beds were wonderful. (Firm but soft). A very good nite’s sleep. Fun town. Excellent Mexican Restaurant in town. And Joes Pizza too plus diner for breakfast! Near to Lake Shelbyville and campgrounds.

Very friendly and helpful stafg

We came in for the wedding of our nephew, and stayed at the Shelby Inn. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, the bed was also very comfortable. Anytime we reached out to the staff they quickly responded and continue to stay in touch with us. We also had the pleasure of visiting their event space, which is where the rehearsal and wedding was held, and I must say it was very beautiful. We could have not ask for a more wonderful weekend with family and friends. Thank you to the owners and staff of the Shelby Inn, who made this a fantastic weekend. Steve and Bonnie Hart.

Size of the room was great. Communication from staff was great. Location is great. Getting into the room was so easy. I loved how many pillows were included with each bed. Everything was clean. The TV was pretty great too, I appreciated all the channels included.

The room was humid and warm when I arrived, and it smelled very musty and unpleasant. The fridge didn’t work well and my leftover food spoiled overnight. The whole room, for the price paid, felt outdated and under decorated. The mattress was way too stiff for me and I did not sleep well at all.

Room windows in small single story rooms did not lock at all. We had to rig a bar from inside my car to keep windows from sliding open. No staff on premises -all virtual. There were some unsavory people in lot with car running for hours. No one to check on what was going on. Not good.

When I arrived there was no ironing board or iron or hair dryer and I texted them and let them know I had a wedding next day and they brought it to me early. Which worked out perfect.

The only thing I didnt like is the info had conflicting check in times of 1 and 4pm. When asked 3 days prior to check in if i could check in at 3pm they said i had to ask when I received the check in text at 10am day of check in. Which I did but was told I had to have prior approval from management. Room perfectly fine and clean for a quoick one night dtay.

Virtual checking and door lock works well.
