The Inn at Montpelier

Bon emplacement, bon petit-déjeuner, chambre spacieuse et baignoire.

Charming old building that was perfect for our home base in Vermont. The bed was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was good. Coffee, hard boiled eggs, fruit, bagels, cereal etc. And we met some lovely folks in the dining room. Staff, particularly Kelly, were friendly and helpful.

The water took a really long time to get hot and not super hot. Also there was a little step down from the landing into the bedroom that should maybe have some bright warning strips to keep someone from tripping. But overall it was a great stay.

Love the buildings!

My only complaint was the bed and pillows weren’t the most comfortable. We have had better in other rooms we have stayed in.

The bed was an old spring mattress and should be updated.

I was traveling with my 8yo daughter, and we arrived 2 or 3 hours early for check-in. I called the number I found at the front desk and left a vm asking if early check-in might be possible. It was hot, and my daughter and I sat in the parking lot with the A/C on. A couple minutes later, the manager, Kelly, happened by to walk her dog, saw us in the car, and stopped to talk to me. In 10 minutes, I was opening the door to an upgraded room (offered, not requested), and a budding melt down from my daughter was avoided. The room was large enough. The bathroom was huge! Short walk to the little downtown. Breakfast was better than decent. Most of all, though, I’ll remember Kelly’s kindness.

Very nice and quiet

More like being in a home than hotel. Nice terraces to relax on. Walking distance to downtown Montpelier. Clean. Good breakfast. Beautiful historic buildings, great antiques.

Needs maintenance in a lot of areas. Staff sometimes unavailable.
