Location was great

Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, shared bathroom was wierd(no lock that could keep other guests from entering), no TV.

It was close to downtown and had a nice view

I hardly know where to begin. We only met the owner when we walked along the side of the house and she was in the yard with the dog. She told us to close the gate that said mean dog. This is NOT a Bed and Breakfast. It is a room only. Do NOT rent the #3 Dahila room. On booking.com it says private bath. It neglected to mention that it was down the hall. When I realized this and complained I was told take it up with booking.com. Also booking.com says breakfast served daily. Nope! This is no longer a real Bed and Breakfast. You are not allowed into the main house at all. It appears that once upon a time it was but no longer. The room is VERY tiny. The is no where to even set your luggage. The bed is lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom was also very tiny, less than 3 ft between the tub and the door. We were there for 3 nights and would not have stayed but there was an event in town and literally no where else available. This is not where you want to stay if you have any mobility issues. Very steep stairs just to get to the front door and then more stairs inside. The carpet in our room was stained and dirty. They never emptied the trash or even contacted us during our stay. Very poor hospitality

Loved the outdoor space and beautiful gardens. Very friendly host and convenient walking distance to downtown Victoria.

Quirky old fashioned charm

Not sure that breakfast not being offered anymore was well communicated beforehand. It was after all selected as ‘bed and breakfast’ accommodation.

Perfect location for Astoria, almost everything is in walking distance. The room was delightful, well stocked and very comfortable.

I loved it all!

Breakfast??! What breakfast?! We were greeted at the door with “we’re not serving breakfast” – and it’s still advertised on the website! There were two oranges and two apples on a plate in the room......

Where to begin? This place was just not senior friendly! 38 steep stairs to get to our room. Our ‘private’ bathroom was a room down the hall with a sign ‘private’ on the door, just was not expecting that. There was a rope crossing the front door of the residence. It looked like there was a bit of a gift shop on the inside, but it certainly did not seem welcoming or approachable. The room we had really is suitable for just one person, there is no way we could Pass each other in the room without turning sideways — and we are not large people! The balcony was a nice touch, although it would’ve been nice if the paint had been scraped off the newly painted panes on the door. It just looked messy and unfinished. The positive? Good location, very walkable to restaurants and the waterfront.

Location is perfect, walking distance to so many adorable historic sites, cafes and shops

Beds were too soft for my taste, kitchen lacked large bowls for making food, not enough cookware, mini fridge didn't work properly

The room was pleasingly decorated, bathroom was well stocked, great view, quiet at night, and close to town

Was not informed until 2 hours before arrival that painting was happening, so room smelled of paint. One flight of stairs did not include 23 outside to enter the building. One of the beds is in need of a new mattress. Unbeknownst to us while we were out for the day someone was in the room as evidenced by moved items.

Comfortable room with everything we needed, thoughtful touches with flowers and fruit. Friendly hosts, we enjoyed our chat sitting in the garden, the glass of wine went down very well.

Not really an issue for us but steep steps from the sidewalk could be a problem in wet weather.
