Exactly as described! Simple rooms, lakefront & Doc’s food was fantastic! We had a wonderful stay!

It is an older hotel but clean enough. Tile floors do make your sock dirty. Could use new pillows but that’s ok. Best part is walking out your door and having immediate access to a private beach (no lifeguards). Beach connects to restaurant which has excellent food. Recommend beach/water shoes as you will have to walk on broken shells to get to the water. I saw people go out as far as 40-50 yards and still able to stand. Will definitely be staying here again. Highly recommend if you aren’t snobbish about the age of the place. Close to many attractions including African Safari Park, Jet Express and other restaurants. Hidden gem is a 50’s style diner at the Aviation Museum. (Can eat at diner without paying for the museum). Chose a king bed and you get a room with a view of the Lake.

It was an overall good place to stay with the beach and lake right out your door. Great price. Room was clean, could use a few updates. Beds were ok but could use new pillows in the room we had.

I am very excited we found this little hidden gem. The beach was beautiful and staff friendly on check in. Room smelled and seemed very clean, although I would recommend flip flops for whatever product they used on the floor. If there was breakfast, we couldn't find it. However, we will definitely be coming back. Well worth the price.

Great getaway place with beach

This was our first time visiting & we could not have asked for a better place to stay! The room was very clean, organized, provided a small fridge, wet bar, neat bathroom area; everything that we needed to enjoy our stay! The staff was also very responsive during this COVID-19 pandemic, we felt very safe during our stay! The view of the lake & beach was incredible! The restaurant had great food and a wonderful atmosphere! We were within walking distance to the ferry and gas stations making our stay even more convenient! We will definitely be back!!!

Room definitely needs updating, poor lighting and the beds were very uncomfortable. The outside shower was not working so the sand was all over the floor in the room. At night there is NO outside lighting, it was pitched dark very unsafe. If you want ice you have to go across the street to a sister hotel. The only good thing was location for the kids.

The room was OK with the exception of the lock on the door. Had to get the front desk clerk to let us in then we almost got locked in the room. Resort is older but has a perfect location. Floor was dirty with sand like it had not been sweep between visitors.

Meets basic needs right on the beach. Good views. Floors were not clean needing mopped. Outdoor showers did not work, so difficult to avoid carrying sand into the room. Mildew in the bathroom. Would stay again, but wanted to bring these issues up for other travelers.
