Aloha Junction Bed and Breakfast

Beautiful property with lush garden, we started in the Nene goose room which was comfortable and nicely decorated.

We miss the owner's company and his wonderful breakfast. He was why we always came back. It has lost that special feeling. So empty without his presence. The description of what food is provided is not accurate and should reflect the amount of people booked to that room not just for 2 people that is unexceptionable. I recommend either no food or provide for the amount of people that booked the room. For example we were booked for 3 adults and you provided for 2 adults. That's bad business. Also when we booked we didn't know that the owner was gone until after we got our confirmation. Make it a real B&B again that is what separated You from the rest!

Access was easy, TV worked, great location, and snacks/breakfast in the fridge was a nice touch

The bedsheets didn't seem clean and it seems like one of the windows was missing a set of curtains so the room was very bright, we had to hang our own towels to block out the light. Also didn't have access to main kitchen

Breakfast and coffee offered for 2 nights was inadequate. Expected a coffee replacement for 2 nd night but there was nothing. 2 pods for 2 people for 2 nights did not work for us. Seemed as breakfast offering were only adequate if you spent 1 night.

We stayed here for one night only in May 2023 for a visit to the Volcano park. The location is close to the park and that’s about it.

Unfortunately, we got tricked by the property. We agreed with Robert and his wife on the phone that we would shorten our stay from two nights to one night. They offered to return just 50% of the daily price in return for a good review from our side. After we had left, it became clear that they never intended to return the money in the first place. We followed up with multiple emails and iterations with Booking.com and never even got a reply. The most we got is a reply to a request from Booking.com but still no reimbursement from the property: “We apologize for the delay as we were attempting to clarify why the discrepancy with our partner booking.com. We discovered the error which was completely unintential and will refund your money today. And by the way we appreciated your positive review!” We can’t recommend a place with such attitude. When we were there the single night, there was nobody to greet us or at breakfast in the morning.

The grounds were beautiful with so much attention given to enhancing the surroundings and making it feel like a special garden oasis. The attention to detail in the room increased the already warm and inviting nature of the guest house. The bed was super comfortable. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Our hosts were very attentive before we arrived to make sure everything was smooth and even helped us when we had questions about planning our activities during our stay. While we were there we almost felt like we were in our own home with the level of privacy provided.

It's a converted house at the end of a very long driveway. The only issue (absolutely only one) is that the walls aren't especially thick and you could hear people in the next room over. I didn't hear them often but it meant I was worried that if I watched TV I might disturb my neighbors. Otherwise it's a very clean well appointed place to stay. The room is very tastefully decorated and the furniture in good shape. The bed is very comfortable and everything is in good repair and working order as far as appliances and fittings. They also go overboard on snacks and coffee, while it's only a Keurig cup a day per person staying in the room there's also hot chocolate, yogurt and a variety of breakfast odds and ends. The grounds themselves are nice, there's shared decks and outside spaces that might have been really nice if I hadn't been out and about so much. I'd recommend this place if you plan to do a lot in Volcanoes National Park, you are just down the road, it's a great place to head back to after a long day.
