Beachcombers Hotel

We booked this hotel as our ferry crossing was changed and we needed a room as arrived a day earlier than our booked apartment. As we have a small child and a dog we were limited and I thoughy the pool would be a good feature for the kid. When we arrived, we struggled to find the room as there's a few turns and corridors being an older building. The room was hot! Despite having the window open as much as we could. The window may have opened more but the young child's bed (we had a triple room) was up against the window wall so didnt want to risk it, but not sure it would have made a difference. There were cobwebs in corners and yes it could do with a refresh but apart from the heat of room was comfortable enough. We did arrive late but managed to get one drink at the bar before they shut it 930pm due to being so quiet. They had run out of ice. Breakfast was pretty good to be fair especially as included in the price but i couldn't drink the tea, not sure if the water for tea came from them big water heaters or a kette but whichever vessle was used, it needs a good clean and/or descale. My husband and the boy used the pool in the morning and it wasn't the warmest but they enjoyed a good splish splash. If i needed a hotel room back here again, i would look to stay elsewhere within the same budget but I won't say never again.

Overall, a good place to stay. Communication with the hotel was very good - I booked our trip independently, and they answered all my questions promptly. Our room was fine, with a view over the pool area and tennis court. Staff were efficient and friendly. We booked B&B so didn't have an evening meal in the hotel restaurant. However, breakfast was great! Lots of choice, and if a good full English is your thing then this is the place to go.

Lovely hotel, great breakfast, good service. On a bus route so really easy to get around. Lovely walk into Gorey. Clean, warm pool and nice outdoor space too. All staff very helpful. Didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening as lots of options nearby. Worth a visit.

Have just stayed at The Beachcomber, for a week. Excellent hotel, the staff are just amazing, each and everyone of them, absolutely, nothing is to much trouble. Vince the manager is so helpful. The breakfast is great and you never have to ask for anything to be replenished. The room is kept spotless, as is the hotel and pool area. Tea/coffee in the room is plentiful. Lovely beach towels are provided for around the pool. Hotel is well situated for buses into St Helier and Gorey Pier, also for Lovely walks. Would highly recommend this hotel, it should be at least 3*plus or 4*. The staff definitely made it for us. We will return.

Excellent staff - very helpful. A good library& lovely breakfasts. Parking was safe.

Property could do with some updating

Great welcoming and friendly staff, nice breakfast, good dinner. Hotel could do with a little refurb - some feels old and a little tatty. Staff could not be more helpful and friendly

Room was good, bed was very good. Service excellent. Location was excellent. I enjoyed several walks from hotel to local reservoir, the beach (Gorey) etc. Recommended.

We had four nights at Beachcombers Hotel, and I can honestly say it was a very enjoyable stay. We had a bed & breakfast booking, and this was perfect for our stay as we travelled out every day and ate out for lunch and dinner, so this fitted our plans perfectly. The breakfast is varied and well/constantly restocked and suits all tastes, with very courteous and friendly waiting staff. The room was clean and spacious, with nice ensuite facilities and suited our tastes as we only really just slept there... there was the delightful sound of a peacock shouting in the distance at various times which was brilliant! :-) The reception staff, including the manager were friendly and helpful and made our stay an enjoyable experience. The roads around the hotel are paved so you can enjoy a walk down to Gorey (for an evening meal) or the beach without fear of walking on the road. All in all and big fat 5 out of 5, no complaints....
