Summer House Cairns

It was close enough to cairns city centre and they ran a shuttle.

There was bugs in our room, there were bugs in the showers and toilets, coming out of sanitary bins. The toilets would be shut for cleaning, but the same dirty, soggy tissue and empty cups would still be there from before they were shut when they reopened, what was actually been cleaned? They never seemed clean. When we arrived we had someone else’s dirty clothes in the locker and cockroaches on our clothes. The kitchen was tiny and you couldn’t cook in there, it was also dirty.

The fridge was 2 coolers, small with barely any space for everyone's food, something was easily knocked over and fell on the floor, spilling food. It could be difficult sometimes to find your items when they had been moved around after cleaning. In addition to the small space and although it was nice to be cooled down, it affected my throat and voice, the quick changes between heat and cold. The kitchen was ok, but also small with space. I wish there was a system that made that part more manageable. Problems with stove plates. Usually we were warned about closed kitchen or bathroom, but 1 morning the bathroom was closed for several hours until sometime in the afternoon, it would have been good to have some info about this.

La navette pour emmener dans le centre est très pratique. Les sanitaires sont très propres. L’ambiance est vraiment bien si l’on veux sortir

C’est un énorme hostel, une seule cuisine pour autant de gens ce n’est pas assez. La cuisine était dans un état, pas possible de cuisiner le soir il y a trop de monde. Le house kiping qui débarque à n’importe quelle heure dans la chambre et qui ramasse toute les affaires qui traînent pour les jeter ou les mettre à la réception …

This place is WILD.. Had a great time and was full of travellers who are international.. I stayed here after arriving from work and I only stayed the 1 night which was all I needed. If you're interested in partying highly recommend I booked a single room so I didn't share and it was the best decision.. It's close to the airport and check in was easy ubers are convenient for the shopping

Beds are horrible and the hours people are up drinking is literally all night there was noise all night.. Drunk people in the stair well bathrooms were absolutely disgusting
