Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort and Spa

The reception staff was lovely, Ops Manager Nick Fox tried helping us resolving issues, but they are deeper to what he can help with. At the end he gave us a discount as the current state of the hotel is not acceptable and definitely not 5-star luxury experience as presented on Booking.com.

It’s dated, needs renovation and care, the pools once blue, are now dirty and we have never seen anyone cleaning pools or measuring water cleanliness so we couldn’t use our pool despite paying for it. We stayed here in 2016 and 2017 and the hotel was impeccable now it’s just living from its previous glory. The outside areas don’t match the photos on Booking.com, restaurant serves good dinner, but gets booked up easily so we managed just one meal in there, hotel is now staffed by backpackers from Europe waiting to get their visa and it’s felt everywhere. The staff will pass you and look bored, disengaged, don’t acknowledge you in any way, the housekeeping is insufficient, management is trying hard but the issues need to be resolved on a higher level.

My partner is dark skinned and got ignored at the pool bar multiple times while other people who turned up later got service first, and then the restaurant delivered food with no cutlery called for cutlery and by the time it turned up the food was cold

Too many kids, so if you're looking for an exclusive private stay with your partner, this isnt the place. Service at the pool bar was a little slow, only one person working when there is a line ordering drinks. Bar also served food, hot chips and tomato sauce ruin a relaxing experience Weather ; Wet season, not much the hotel can do about that!

What I liked about the location was the swimming pools and our accommodations and very close to the beach. The staff was polite and helpful. The restaurant had a set menu that wasn't much to choose from but the meals were good

What I didn't like was the room cleaning is not good. Not good cleaned rooms. They are in and out within 5 minutes You'll be lucky if you get extra toilet paper and tissues. Dirty bathrooms floors and hair in toilets floors etc. overall the cleaners don't clean well. The resort needed a little TLC
