Best Western Hotel La Solara

Perfect location excellent Shuttle service to Sorrento Service in hotel bars pool and restaurant is fabulous Rooms are spacious and I loved the traditional service

Firstly. Naples airport. Utter shambles. 3 hours to clear customs. Chaotic nightmare. Anyway, 5 hours after landing, we arrive at La Solara. Perched up in the hills above Sorrento, a courtesy bus, which ran like clockwork, takes you down to town every hour, only taking about 10 minutes. Returning to the peace and quiet was nice after the hustle and bustle of the town. The hotel isn't new but is modern inside with, what looks like, new furnishings. The communal spaces are spacious and inviting, the dining room bright and thoughtfully laid out. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal. Lots of choices at breakfast and generous portions of the various choices at dinner. This isn't fine dining (thank goodness) but rather the type of meals we've found are quite common in hotels we've stayed in all over Italy and we were very happy with them. Sunday night was "Gala Night" with a fixed menu and a piano being played (too loudly) throughout the meal but it was fine. After dinner, there was music in the lounge (even louder) but many guests were loving it. We had booked a front sea view with terrace. The room was a good size with plenty of storage. Very clean and comfortable. The terrace was huge with views over the sea towards Ischia. The toilet was a little dated but spotless and everything worked so it was all good. Any negatives? We could hear the toilet above us being used: not pleasant and the flushing was really noisy. Maybe this was just in our room. I don't know but, when it happens at 3.00am, not great. Also, more acknowledgement from some staff members would have been nice, even just a smile. However, would I go back? Certainly. Would I recommend? I would.

L'hôtel est très bien avec une grande piscine. Petit déjeuner très copieux. Les chambres sont propre et spacieuses. L'hôtel dispose d'une navette qui fait des allers/retours toutes les heures pour Sorrente.

Prachtige ligging, fijn zwembad. Ruime kamers, schoon en vriendelijk personeel, mogelijkheid tot parkeren van de auto bij het hotel.

The shuttle bus was very handy . The staff were very friendly and the whole place is so clean

Camere non climatizzate. Alla richiesta di spiegazioni alla reception hanno risposto che non avevano ancora attivato l’aria condizionata nelle stanze. Gravissimo per un albergo a 4 stelle. Rapporto qualità prezzo squilibrato. Poca chiarezza sulla tariffa applicata al check out. Per il prezzo pagato si poteva tranquillamente includere anche la colazione che invece era esclusa. Pur essendo membro best western non hanno voluto conteggiarmi i punti per il soggiorno.
