Holiday Inn Express Madison by IHG

Everything was great here—very close to all the major restaurants and shopping.

Overall was an excellent experience. Very clean, modern. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only complaint is that the walls are thin. We were on the second floor, handicapped accessible. Could hear above us and next door. Woke us several times. Also would recommend breakfast extend to 10 am on weekends. Went down at 9:40 - never knew it happened!

I've stayed here three times now, mostly because the staff is great.

A nice stay overnight! Breakfast bar looked good !! Everyone was nice and room was clean. Have stayed a few places recently and when we had 4 travelers we had 2-3 towels & washcloths. I hate to ask for anything. I really appreciated having the number of towels for the number of people

We recently traveled 9 days/8 nights across the southeast and stayed at 8 different hotels: 5 Holiday Inn Expresses & 3 Holiday Inns. I will submit a review for each hotel and rate them based on the usual factors plus in comparison with others of the same IHG brand: 7th night-Holiday Inn Express-Madison, GA We arrived around check-in time and parked in one of the Diamond IHG parking spaces, which were just a few yards from the front entrance. We were greeted by a man at the desk of south central Asian heritage. As we found out during our stay, the hotel is run by a family of several generations. They take great care of this property from the front desk to housekeeping and almost everything else. You can tell that it's a family business. We were given one of their best rooms, #330. It was on the top floor at the end of the hall and had the shape and square footage of a mini-suite; however, the set-up was a bit strange with lots of open space. There was an area with a sofa bed and a table. On the same wall by the window with the broken blind that wouldn't open, was a desk with chair. In between and mounted on the same wall was the TV. Due to the set up, you could only see the TV from the bed or if a chair was moved and placed near the end of the bed. The room needs some interior design so that sofa and TV face each other! We noticed fewer channel choices on the TV; our favorite channel, HGTV, when we travel, was not available! Also, other channels were weak or had no signal at times. There were ample outlets and USB ports by each side of the bed. The bed was comfortable but could have used some firmer pillows. The bathroom had a tub, which was nice, but the stopper didn't go down property. Had to use some ingenuity to plug up for bath! The hotel, at least our room, seemed recently remodeled. Everything seemed freshly cleaned. There was a sign on our floor that pointed to elevator and ice machine, but there was no ice machine. I am not sure if this stage of update is still in progress? The only one I found was on the 1st floor by the elevator and next to a washer & dryer (not sure if for public use). Breakfast: It was our last morning at HIE so I was looking forward to pancakes, but the pancake machine was turned off and not working per the front desk. They did have sugar-free syrup! There was a coffee station with freshly ground coffee, but one of 2 sides was out of order so longer wait time to get coffee. There were scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, turkey sausage, potatoes, sausage gravy and biscuits. There were also yummy warm, cinnamon rolls. The turkey sausage had a little pink inside, but I ate anyway and had no later problems! Most hot items were just lukewarm. We ate before 7 a.m. (open 6:30-9:30 everyday) so food may have been out even before opening time? The breakfast could have been better with better repair and warmer food plus there was rap music playing in background. In conclusion, as I mentioned about several generations at the hotel, the older ones were on guard in the morning to find out which rooms were being vacated. They followed to the elevator and inquired about room number and if checking out? I assume they gathered up dirty towels, linens, etc. and got started on preparing the room for future guests. It wasn't annoying, just different. I am glad they take such pride in their property!. With a few repairs and some finishing touches, this property could easily be top notch. I also recommend that they contact TripAdvisor and remove all of the reviews prior to the last (current) full remodel. It appears that this property was originally a Ramada (thus the address on Ramada Way/Lane), possibly a Holiday Inn, and now a Holiday Inn Express. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

We were placed near the stairs and heard almost every time the door closed. Besides that, it was a good night. Breakfast was good, but pancake maker wasn't working.

It was amazing, Service and Staff was remarkable. We had gotten into town at 11:00am, check in was not until 3:00pm. A room was available and they ushered us right in, Sue was the young lady that I spoke with first. She was wonderful and very accommodating. Breakfast and Staff were great. Our checkout staff and cleaning crew were extremely friendly. We had come into town for a funeral, getting into our room early for a nap before going to the funeral home was a Blessing. Thank You !!!

Room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable! Cleanliness was a big plus!!
