Great stay great sports facilities and easy check in process and lovely room with view over the track field

The hotel is clean and tidy and most of the staff very pleasant. Rooms are apartment style which is great and the beds are comfortable. We arrived before the check in time and were given our room more or less straight away. They were also good at accommodating late check out. The restaurant food was quite reasonable however it is small and they didn't open the front part of the restaurant which laid to queues. The hotel told us it was because there was a leak but it didn't rain all week and I didn't see any builders trying to fix any leak so I suspect it was more to do with not wanting to employ any more restaurant staff in March (the hotel was fully booked on the Saturday night of our weeks stay). Sonya the lady managing the restaurant was apologetic when we had to queue and was greatly at handling all guests. She was also very attentive when there were any issues with anything running out etc. The longest queue was around twenty minutes to get into the restaurant, The hotel advertises the bar as being opened from 10.30am to 11.00pm which is true except for the period between 6pm and 6.30pm. When I asked why this was reception told me that was when staff got their dinner. Come on really you need to employ more staff if a guest can't even get a coke at 6pm! Again I suspect the hotel need to employ another one or two staff during this time of the year. In the evenings there was generally one bar person on and when the bar became busy this was a problem. One evening the bar man disappeared at 10.40pm and came back at 11pm to tell the long queue of people waiting that the bar was now closed. There were evenings when there were 60 -70 people in a bar with one bar person who was responsible for serving f=drinks and collecting empty glasses. The sorts part of the complex is excellent with a very good track, pitch, gym and cross country course. I couldn't fault any of them. Marta and Flo are in charge of classes including yoga and stretch classes which are provided each day and they are very good. They also look after general entertainment and are some of the hardest working staff I have come across in any hotel. They were constantly encouraging guests to take part in various light hearted entertainment activities during the day and putting on quizzes, karaoke etc. All in all I would recommend the hotel but feel the experience would be so much better if they just employed a few more staff.

We came for a last minute, calm, relaxing winter break in the sun - and got so much more! We had seen from the site images that it looked like a good place, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was even better than we first thought. The general area is very quiet (although it was January), with some shops and restaurants nearby, and a beautiful beach about 10 minutes away. The general decor of the hotel is modern, clean and stylish. We had seen some reviews say that the rooms were 'dated' but we didn't find that at all, more that it was just a different style of room, typically what you might find in Portugal, Spain, Greece and other popular European destinations. We loved the rooms, and felt very comfortable for our 4 night stay. The breakfast was amazing too, with so much variety and choice and as a vegan family we had plenty of options - and this was by default and not by request, so it's good to know that they think about healthy eating in general in the hotel. And they had papaya which was a real treat! The general ethos of the hotel seems to be centered around not only sports and fitness, but wellness too, and this really resonated with us. I mean, having an athletics track and football pitch in your back yard on holiday is an absolute dream! We ran on it everyday, and used the gym every morning - the facilities they had in there were great too, so it was the perfect stay to not only relax but stay fit and healthy too. I would definitely recommend a stay here and we absolutely plan to come back for an even longer stay!

Went for a Milestone Birthday celebration. The room was clean and spacious. Plenty of storage. The 2 Managers who assisted us was Pedro and Sergio who were very nice and very helpful. They provided information on things to do and places to visit. They both booked all our trips that we went to which was awesome and a bonus to me as we had a good time. The food was nice and plentiful. Drinks unlimited. Definitely go back there again

Excellent stay, we came with family. They have all facilities. They are health focused, every morning there is a fitness class after breakfast. They have kids club and two swimming pools. Perfect to unwind and relax. Very close to the beach

Hotel was very nice, great area & excellent facilities to make the most of during the stay, however for a 4 star hotel I was very disappointed with the “All Inclusive” option as the food was pretty poor. Same food 2 days running as options, overly salted & cooked which wasn’t great. We ended up not eating in the hotel our last night as we actually wanted something that was filling & to be honest edible. Staff were friendly & helpful, it wasn’t very busy so the activities were generally just me & my friend partaking but the events host Joao was excellent. Location is great, it was just a shame that the local shops across the road from the gym were shut for Christmas & the nearest shop (that was open) was about a 20-30 min walk. Apartment itself was nice & spacious although it was meant to be a double bed & 2 singles we somehow ended up with 2 singles (right beside each other) & a single sofa bed.

Have just returned from a few nights at the AP sports and beach. I always give honest reviews as I use TripAdvisor to select my own holidays. This hotel is not for anyone wanting a busy area, it's not near much and we had to use taxi's to get around. The hotels common areas like restaurant and games room are 4 star but the other areas like hallways and the actual rooms are not. The rooms are functional and have been painted to look modern but the flooring and bathrooms need a update asap. The pool area could also do with updating of the furniture and sunbeds. Food was ok. The good thing about the resort are staff. They are very polite, friendly and work hard. Shout out to João who got us involved in the activities and kept us entertained.
