Sunstar Inn Los Banos near I-5

Clean room but lacking the level of quality of a budget motel. Room had no hand towels,shower had a stationary shower head and no place to put soap, shampoo or wash cloth. Lucky got a quite room but due to lay out some rooms have to noisy. AC was marginal but worked. Twenty five charge for ice and they have a old unsanitary chained bucket to collect ice.

This is very nice place to stay with my family. We came to attend the wedding in the town so we call and make the reservation and the manager is so nice to help us each and every way to make our stay very comfortable. The room is very nice and clean with all amenities.We will stay here again in future for sure.Thank you Jack for all your help to my family.

This place is disgusting. I won't stay here again even if it was free. The towels they offer is from the auto shop. The soap and shampoo is so small not enough for 2 people. The indian owner would go in your room even if you tell them not to clean the room. The go in and turn off the air condition off to save on electricity in the 100 degree weather. When you come back the room is hot and stuffy. Feels like the owner is always watching you. There are a bunch of people that hang out in the parking lot every night drinking.

Owner will go in your room without permission. The owner will go in the room pretend to clean the room but will turn off the a/c to save on electricity in a 90 degree weather. The towel are like rags you used for cleaning cars. Soaps and shampoo are non existent. Glad I pack some. Owner will give you a hard time if you ask for soap and shampoo. The parking lot is used for hangout for people drinking all night. Will not stay here again even if its free.

Not bad for a night. On the main drag in town, which means more options for food. Free wifi. Lots of TV channels. Budget motel with pluses like fridge, microwave, and shampoo. King bed, ok not the moat comfortable one. Nice service. Was cheaper than the chains. Price factored into review.

Good room space but the towels were dirty

There is nothing fancy. But the room is clean, comfortable, quiet, and cheap. It could use more towels and better soap. The internet can be slow. The staff is very helpful and take pride in how clean the property is. It is a good place for a stopover on the I-5 and there is a Black Bear Diner nearby.

We travel often between Riverside and the Bay Area, and use this wonderful hotel as our late night stop. It is very well priced, and is about 5 hours out from our house. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, the beds are cozy, and the family-run business has friendly people at the counter, even when we get in so late. Getting up the next day, we drive into the Bay Area rested and happy. Although the Sun Star is a few minutes off the freeway, it is well worth the detour!

Got in at 11:30 p.m. and left by 6:00 a.m. Hotel was okay. Room had been reconditioned recently. Okay place to stop when passing through on the 5 Fwy. Good price. Only negative was the shower wasn't clean. Looked like water / scuz had backed up through the drain.
