The Morehead Inn

Great experience! The room was fantastic, the staff VERY accommodating and breakfast was outstanding. We will definitely be returning!

While the Inn is a lovely if not quirky building with an intimate Inn feeling, it is sorely behind in maintenance and updates. Rooms are very dated and worn, and the heat and air systems are woefully inadequate, making a stay quite miserable when it’s cold outside.

We celebrated our wedding here this past weekend, and in so many ways, it was absolutely stunning. From the décor to the flow of the event, everything felt magical — and working with Brooke was a dream. She made the planning process seamless and genuinely put me at ease every step of the way. That said, I hesitate to give a full five stars because of a disappointing post-wedding experience. After getting home, we realized that my groom accidentally packed a portable, battery-powered mirror from the room, mistaking it for mine. We promptly reached out and offered to mail it back. Unfortunately, since then, we’ve been repeatedly contacted — calls and texts demanding its immediate return or threatening a $45 charge. I understand why there’s a fee, but after spending over $40,000 on our wedding, being pursued so aggressively over a mirror feels tone-deaf. When I shared my disappointment, this was the reply: “I understand but it’s still our mirror. … It belongs to us so it’s like either give it back or we will charge … We understand it was an accident … that’s why we were considerate in calling instead of just charging.” It’s only been two days since we left the venue — we haven’t even unpacked or caught our breath from the whirlwind of the weekend. To me, this response underscores a lack of grace and perspective. Our coordinator was exemplary, but interactions with the front desk staff have left me feeling undervalued.

The room was spacious and lovely. The staff was friendly and helpful. Love the courtyard area.

The building and grounds once were lovely but they need a lot of maintenance to bring them up to a good standard. The bed was comfortable and the hot water worked which are pluses. The room was dark either inadequate lighting. The breakfast was just passable. I didn’t bother the second day.

It is such a beautiful B and B in an incredible neighborhood. Several restaurants are within a mile or 2 from the property.

lovely property, comfortable stay. Breakfast delicious and lovely setting. Rooms are tad dated but bed was super comfortable and very clean! Would return for sure! Parking easy!
