Location and size of rooms were very good

Old showers/ bath mould in bathroom. Needs a refurbish Had to ask to get our room serviced. Stayed 4 nights and only got the room serviced once. Staff at tonic bar were incredibly slow every night (4) to serve people wanting to buy drinks and it wasn’t even busy. There were 3-4 staff there but they were talking to each other and genuinely walking slowly around bar area ignoring the guests trying to order a drink. Other guests noticed and commented this to us as well.

Pretty hard to fault, its a pretty amazing place. If anything maybe the price of the stay per night but what do you expect on an island

Television - aerial hanging Reception normal TV yet we understand the location as it was only five minutes then freeze . Bathroom - easily flooded with water and remove the clothes line as Exhaust fan not operating and clothes not drying ... On arrival one long strand of hair in the bathtub The bath tub rust stains plug hole ..damaged on bath No chairs on verandah

Cleanliness of the place - always glasses/dishes lying around pool area and reception etc, always as the rooms didn’t feel the cleanest with big stains on all the the furniture It was a little outdated, the other side of the island kind of felt like it was abandoned, and the outside of the building could use with freshening up along with the furniture and amenities Pool was dirty everyday Food wasn’t great, especially the infinity where we were charged $180 for cold food, but thankfully got a refund

Beautiful setting with the living reef and swimming pools, bars and restaurants.

The bed in room 2223 needs replacing. The shower tap made an awful noise while the water was turned on and hot water was scalding during water surges. The service at the Salti restaurant was excellent on the first night but on the second night it was as if the staff were in a hurry to close up and we weren’t offered the dessert menu and our waitress omitted our starter order and just brought out the mains. Overall a great stay.

It’s an island

If you’ve ever dreamed of a relaxing tropical island escape… don’t wreck that dream by booking here. We stayed just over a week, which was enough time to fully appreciate that Daydream Island appears to be running on vibes, understaffing, and pure optimism. Let me be clear: the staff themselves were lovely. But they all looked exhausted and defeated, like contestants in the final week of a reality survival show. We didn’t meet a single employee who’d been there longer than two months, which says plenty. This feels like a management/system issue, not a staff issue. Need a Bloody Mary? Of course, but only at the pool bar, during its mysterious and limited opening hours, so plan accordingly. Want food in the main bar or lobby area after 5pm? What an ambitious thought. Fancy a small bag of chips or soft drink from the shop? That’ll be $5 each, thanks. The multitasking on display was honestly Olympic level. Reception staff were checking guests in while folding towels. The spa therapist was also serving in the shop. The breakfast host was greeting guests, clearing tables, wiping surfaces, and hand-drying glasses while two others appeared to be washing said glasses in buckets behind a cabinet. Buckets. On an island resort. The buffet area itself wasn’t exactly sparkling, and dining often came with bonus entertainment from birds aggressively scouting for leftovers. At the main lounge bar, table service is apparently a myth. Even if seated at the bar, you must queue at the register like you’re buying petrol station snacks. We tried the “fancy” restaurant for a treat. Within two minutes of ordering, both starters and mains arrived together. When we pointed out that our $80 mains would now go cold while we ate starters, the response was a cheerful: “Sorry, the chefs are quick!” Then off they went. Efficiency without purpose is still chaos. Also, the venue itself felt less luxury dining and more conference centre with dim lighting.

All staff were extremely accommodating and lovely! We come here once a year and it is always such a wonderful experience.

The view was absolutely amazing, and the staff were incredibly sweet and welcoming. We received fantastic service throughout our stay—everyone was so kind. ❤️ The restaurant manager was especially helpful, securing last-minute reservations for us at both restaurants for the duration of our stay.

The property lacked adequate facilities, with most things closing very early. The convenience store had limited items and was also overpriced. Additionally, there were no places available to refill water bottles, which was quite inconvenient. If you’re travelling with kids, I’d recommend bringing your own snacks and water before heading to the island, as the options available are quite limited.
