Daydream Island Resort

Een mooi resort op een eiland. Er zijn veel excursies mogelijk maar ook zijn er verschillende gratis opties zoals het huren van een kleine catamaran een sup-board of snorkelspullen. Er is een ruime koelkast op de kamer waar je je eigen spulletjes koud kunt zetten. Met de kaketoes en wallaby’s op het eiland is het plaatje van een tropisch eiland helemaal compleet.

De communicatie vooraf kan beter beantwoord worden. De badkamers (douchen in bad en het leidingsysteem) mogen wel een update krijgen en ook de ventilatie verdient een schoonmaakbeurt.

The bed were amazing and staff were wonderful

Unfortunately it rained our whole stay but that had nothing to do with the resort

Swimming pool was good

No coffee at the swim up bar. Fridge didnt work, tv didnt work for a while. Toilet loose, no water pressure, food over priced, girl at tour guide desk didnt seem to care (although most staff seemed to have a sense of humour). Place is run down, living reef was not like the photos and overpriced for a snorkel. Photos definitely better in real life.

The atrium was lovely and big and well layed out. The marine life area was lovely to see sting rays and sharks swimming around especially by breakfast and before reception. Beautiful wallabies and parrots

The cleanliness. We complained about our first room as it had ants and little spiders all round it and by the doors, dusty floors, stains all over the sofa and would not pay that amount for this room and refused to stay in it. It was also down a long dark corridor partly outside with dirty corridor carpets and walls. It felt very abandoned. We got upgraded which was lovely of the staff and our room was great. But the cleanliness of the whole hotel needs improvement such as cleaning debris out of the pool (leaves and dirt), dusting the atrium, floors and everywhere as lots of dust and cleaning up after people’s breakfast faster (floor and tables) as had to sit on a dirty table/floor. We love the wallabies around the grounds but did mean a lot of poo on the floor so had to be careful where we stepped. And we have to say we were disappointed with the island. As you walk around to the other side where the water sports are, it was very abandoned. No bars or anything open, only one member of staff seen at the water sports area. It also had a dirty pool, toilet and grounds. It felt like that side of the island was abandoned so did not stay here. The main part of the island by lovers cove was beautiful but no bars and they brought down drinks by hand for sunset. I think this should be a permanent cafe/bar. To add to this, we felt rushed at the restaurants and finished our meal within 1-1.5 hrs. We booked at 8pm at Infiniti Asian restaurant and ended up being the last ones in there by 21:00. I was told I could not have the dessert I wanted as the kitchen wanted to close so didn’t have one in the end. We were not told this at the beginning of the meal and was expensive for what our experience was. Our second meal at Salty we had booked for 19:30 and were also the second to last ones by 20:30. It was very quiet and felt like we were in the way of the staff leaving. We were also disappointed with the lack of choice of food.
