Hippodrome Hotel Condesa

Great location. Quiet rooms. Comfortable beds. Nicely designed.

Dated and worn. Needs to be renovated. The high prices (even in low season) don’t match the property. We initially were paying over $350/room in low season based on photos that made property look fancier than it is.

First time in Mexico City, made a great choice with Hippodrome Hotel. Quick visit with my daughter and this hotel was the perfect base for a great stay. Was struck by the hospitality and warmth of the staff. They are always available in the lobby, interested in your plans and happy to offer recommendations or advice. The accommodations were modern and clean with an elegant, moody sophisticated vibe for the decor. Great bed, loved the nespresso machine in the room and powerful air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The Condesa neighborhood is just teaming with great cafes and restaurants and of course all the beautiful parks. The location felt very safe and convenient for our visit. I will come back again, 2 nights was not enough to see everything in Mexico City. When I return I’ll definitely stay at the Hippodrome Hotel.

Great location

What a lovely boutique hotel. The neighborhood is picturesque and as a female traveler I felt extremely safe walking in this area. The staff were attentive and very helpful. Very conveniently located for the activities I wanted to do. The bed is very comfortable - I also took the executive suite with a terrace which was quite cute. Keep in mind the 2 terrace rooms share a balcony with plants providing privacy. Amenities are included but coffee is only available at no charge on the first day. They can supply but you have to request and it is an additional charge. No tea available in the room. Wi-Fi is pretty decent (I had to take a couple zoom calls and they did not drop) All in all an exceptional first time stay in Mexico. My compliments to the general manager, Antoine, and his staff

Beautiful art deco hotel building, intricately decorated. Our deluxe superior room was spacious and well appointed. The staff were friendly and attentive. The location is excellent! Lovely park and Lots of restaurants nearby. We will go back!

Staircase too close to elevator and halls were too dark, so easy to fall downstairs on exiting elevator,

No breakfast

There are no facilities beyond your room. No shared space whatsoever beyond a single chair in the lobby! One coffee per person per day .. every coffee pod after that is $2! No fridge in the room or on the floor.

The location near Parque México is excellent and the executive suite was spacious. However, it was not worth over 300 dollars a night given that they”cheap out” on amenities. First of all there is a nespresso machine, but they only provide 2 capsules per visit, in my case six nights, and then charge 2 dollars for each additional capsule. Very petty considering that a $100 per night hotel where I stayed provided 4 capsules per night. They only provide 1 bathrobe for 2 guests. There was no iron or board in room, but apparently they went out to buy one when I asked for one. It appears that the tiny soap has to last me a week too. They don’t provide any shower gel. There are 2 medium size towels for 2 guests so forget about wrapping your wet hair in one. I had safety concerns. For one, I returned to the room to find the cleaner had left the door ajar for anyone to come in and help themselves.
