The common area is limited in space due to its smaller size. The American Guest House is available to assist guests with luggage from 10:00 to 20:00. Please note our property has many stairs and NO ELEVATOR. Quiet hours are between 21:00 and 09:00 WE DO NOT ACCEPT THIRD-PARTY CREDIT CARDS. Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties. Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian. A deposit may be required at the property.

"Comfortable, Accommodating, Excellent location - A short bus ride to the national mall."

The house became a home, if only for a few days. The innkeeper anticipated our needs though out our stay and provided a delicious breakfast every morning.

I got nothing, all was good.

"Elegant townhouse in the heart of DC"

BEAUTIFUL old house! The most comfortable bed I ever slept on! The innkeeper was warm and friendly and fed me even though it was well past time for breakfast (that’s how well I slept and how good the blackout curtains are!) Great breakfast selection. Very helpful.

There are some potential hazards as in most old houses with steps in odd places and the warnings about not getting make-up on the white linens was a bit alarming. Otherwise, nothing, although this is definitely a place that will be more convenient for you if you are early to bed (which I usually am so not a problem for me): the quiet rules might be a problem for folks who are more night owls.
