Zanzibar Beach Resort

It was an amazing experience.

Beautiful place. Our only issue was that the shower was not working properly, no hot water or water pressure. We called the reception desk early in the morning to tell them since we needed to take a shower before we went to the airport but no one came to fixed our problem. We ended up leaving before anyone came to fixed it since we had an 8:30am flight.

Old rooms and dirty bath towels, hotel need rooms renovateion and change the old bath towles. Hotel has good view and location.

Staff are charming , room was standard, need a little bit maintenance

This resort was so amazing, the staff was the best I have ever had the pleasure meeting. They don't hesitate to help in any way possible. So very happy and amazing. The resort is very well maintained and so very beautiful. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. The air condition in the rooms was perfect. We didn't use wifi but it was available in the room. Everything you need is just a short walk away from your room. They keep this place looking so beautiful. You will enjoy each and every walk. The pool at night looks amazing with the color changing LED bulbs. They even had a DJ come and play music while we enjoyed the pool. You wont find a better staff anywhere else.

This hotel was not even a 1*, there was lizards in my bathroom and bedroom almost daily. Their was no hot water for the 3 nights I stayed. I let the front desk know and each day they said they were going to fix it but nothing happened. The water pressure was low and the shower head did not work so it was like me having to bathe out of the sink where I wash my hands. The wait staff and bar was amazing sweet people but it is a shame that they are not appreciated and cared for. Management needs to pay them more for their excellence customer service. I was double charged for my dinner and the hotel refused to reverse the credit card charge. I will never return to this hotel and I highly recommend no one stay here. It is not worth the time and money.

We arrived at 5 o’clock and our room was still not ready. After checking in we found the room at the terrible condition. There was only one towel for 3 guests, the toilet was dirty and the safe was broken. I asked the manager to fix it, and when we returned at 10pm nothing had changed. The maid came and cleaned the toilet after several and repeared requests. Towels were finally given at 11pm. The beach is not suitable for swimming while the swimming pool was very dirty if not dangerously poluted. I will post few photos along with my review so that potential guests of this hotel can see what they should expect for the money they will pay.

If anyone is looking for a beach holiday in Zanzibar, please avoid this place. In fact, Hotels.com should de-list it as it will damage their reputation. Thank God I only booked three days! Main points: I had to change rooms after complaining on check-in to Hotels.com. The "beach" is a stony, muddy, filthy, strip of sand with old tyres and fishermen's detritus that no-one would use for swimming or sunbathing. On checkout, they delayed me because they said they hadn't received money from Hotels.com. I had to show them confirmation email that I had prepaid. They reluctantly accepted this and let me leave. TV in room didn't work - couldn't watch the football programmes available in bar area, just a few fuzzy local channels. Hotel wifi useless. Safe in both rooms I used didn't work. Room security poor - doors to balcony did not lock properly. Lock on front door of first room so flimsy, it could have been easily broken into. Gym not in use - receptionist said "it's not very nice". Say no more. When I asked to use "free area shuttle" I was told I would have to pay - I had to argue every time and get manager's special permission, although it shows it on website. Breakfast a joke. Toaster broken, egg cook clueless.... Good place to lose weight! View from my "Garden View Room" was the hotel car park and an old electrical panel. Basin in bathroom dotted with hardened green matter from previous occupants. Yuk!

I was very disappointed with this hotel(and I do not get disappointed easily). I was the only one. There were many people who were complaining. It was supposed to be a resort hotel, but the condition of the hotel was very poor. The main issue is the service. The people at the front desk do not seem to have any idea what customer services means. They do not pay attention when you talk to them and are not helpful at all. There were three problems in my room: dusty floor, no hot water, and tv not working. I reported to the front desk and nothing happened while I was there for four more days . They were changing ACs while people were in the rooms. People found debris and dust when they got back to their rooms. In my case, they moved me after repeated complaint, but the new room was cleaned properly after they installed the new AC. The wifi was also very weak. This could be a great place if it were managed properly.
