Maldron Hotel Limerick

This might possibly be the worse hotel I've stayed in throughout my trip in Europe. The furniture was dirty; the trash bin was broken; the shampoo and body wash was mostly just water. But all that aside, there was some type of leak from the shower/tub. After a long day and just wanting to get settled into bed, it was the last thing I wanted to deal with. The receptionist said he would following up with me after speaking with his manager that night when I told him, and we never received a call. So we went to bed after doing a quick whip down with the crappy hotel towels and washing our hair in the sink, all without any followup from the night receptionist. The cleanliness of the hotel was one thing, but the service was even worse. Also, the gym was closed. So their amenities, as advertised, wasn't available to guests. Try somewhere else.

This was my 5th stay at this hotel. Asked for a specific room and got exactly what i wanted. Staff from front desk all the way to the leisure were excellent. Very attentive. Lovely breakfast , lovely lunch and great atmosphere. Location is awesome, just outside of town. Will definately be back Thx to all the staff of this lovely hotel...

A communist dictatorial heating regim of heating from 6-7 pm, 8-9 pm and 2-3 am when outside was 4 degrees, window in the teas large opened. Phone in the room not working. I went to the receptionist to boost the heating at 6 pm, after my fist 7:17 pm heating was off, called from my mobile phone to boost heating. Called again at 21:51 pm, 1 am, 1:31 am, 1:58 am .. heating automatically started at 2 am, and stopped at 3 am, 4 degrees outside, window was opened the whole day till 6 pm when I checked in. Every time I called the receptionist said the he will boos the heating in a minute; he lied to me, heating started automatically at 2 am as it is booked by management. I believe the manager didn’t have to pay 154€ for a icy cold room who had windows open for the whole day and heating from 18:33-19, 20- 21 and 2-3 am . Ceausescu used to heat block apartments 2 hrs/ night, Maldron heats 3 hrs/ night. They should put a sign: Ceausecu dictates here.

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff. Found the room clean and had everything we needed. We would stay here again.

Louise and Callum are excellent brand ambassadors for Maldron Limerick. Front desk staff need to be more welcoming. Bedroom bath was a disgrace with flaking enamel.

Good room, clean. Nice pool.

The service was good, however the hotel is in need of serious updating, and modernisation. The first night I was put in a room, where someone had smoked in the room, how housekeeping missed the stench, is beyond me. Anyway, I was moved the next day, and offered complimentary drinks, rather than a free night, which would have been more appropriate.

Rooms are clean, spacious and beds incredibly comfy. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Both breakfast & dinner were delicious, though the menu did feel a little limited, especially for vegetarian options. Pool/Sauna facilities were clean & well maintained, only negative being that there seems to be no time limit in place. Groups sitting in the hot tub for over an hour meaning no one else could use it. Feel this could be managed better. Overall though a great hotel, walking distance from city centre. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
