Very nice Hotel dog friendly and very helpful lovely breakfast and room cleaning service every day would certainly come back to stay again.

Hotel was brilliant, the staff were really good except one think he might have been the security-but he had some sort of problem with me as soon as I entered hotel. Constantly telling me about the rules , I tried laughing it off but by the end of it I was made to feel very uncomfortable

Terrible, terrible hotel! Think of The Shining, only worse. Greeted by a staff member swearing her head off. Mouldy bathroom, cramped room, threadbare carpet, peeling wallpaper, stains on everything - walls, carpet you name it, old furniture, most facilities not working. Cleaners don't really do anything during your stay. Asked to upgrade and was rudely told I couldn't afford it (how would they know!). The photos online are photoshopped or old, they do not depict the real condition of the hotel. Breakfast opened late most days (but admittedly, they were good with my gluten free requests). Even the young receptionist admitted it was dire. This place holds a piece of my heart because we got engaged on our trip, but the place should be demolished and the staff retrained.

Stayed one night after Boardmasters festival, so very welcome to get a decent bed and a shower, twin room with a friend. Very friendly staff at check in, quiet room, good location for town and beach, walking distance to train station (which is how we travelled) . OK for the money, and would stay there again

Worst hotel in the world plus lift didn’t work so had to climb 3 floors every time all day long 😢

Having stayed here before, there have been significant improvements to the overall condition of the Hotel. Could do with a paint outside and new carpet up the stairs to 2nd floor! Breakfast good, clean rooms and friendly staff etc An operational lift might be advantageous at least for the older guests!

Too many complaints to list but I have emailed the hotels manager. Lift not working, toilet not working, brown water from taps, mould in bathroom, hot rooms with limited ventilation, uncomfortable small bunk beds( I have 15 year old twins), very noisy at night. I booked a “Superior family sea view room”- only thing superior was the £300 a night I paid to stay there. The whole hotel needs investment as the decor is tired, wallpaper hanging off the walls, carpets worn. Supposedly lift hasn’t worked for months? We stayed on third floor but felt like 6th as it’s a winding staircase. Really not happy with the description and price of this hotel

No lift .Got room on 3rd floor which is equivalent to 6th floor of a modern building. Had to walk upon down at the age of 76 year. No body should recommend to stày in this hotel. There were school kids hundreds in number marking noises anď lives 10 children in one room. Poor ventilation. Did nìot give me any compensations. Manager ran away.

The hotel needs a vast renovation and up keep . No lifts for over 8 months but they still advertise as having them and i was not made aware they were none . Not good with an 87 year in our party . They also closed the bar and restaurant again another reason for booking however they did open them ONLY for the multi groups off over 100 school children that frequent every few days this property . They catered for the children but not for full paying guests so the were provided dinner and use of bar but nobody else was ..Room had damaged ceiling , and loose shower door . Very expensive and disappointing stay, very angry at lack of facilities with no previous information given.

we turned up to hotel victoria after paying for the stay they asked us if we could manager the stairs 2nd floor as we both entered on mobility scooters i said definitely no so she went back and the manager came out and said the only lift was not working he did fine us another hotel which was ok the only reason we booked because of disability and i did phone to check [can not check] T.R,Hompstead
