Hotel Victoria

Hotel & facilities were a bit dated but staff were friendly & bed was comfortable so a good stay overall.

Facilities excellent, pool super, and staff friendly and helpful. In places the decor was a bit tired - hall carpet for example - and if you need quiet at night best ask for a quiet room as there was quite a lot of noise from people in the street late at night. This hotel provided everything i needed at a price i could afford so a big thumbs up from me

Absolutely lovely stay here. Throughly enjoyed it. Staff were great, breakfast was lovely and the room was nice too. So much history to this place. Would love to come back

Paid extra for “Superior” family suite with double bed&2 single beds for our 2 teenagers plus a sea view disappointed to get a basic family room with little old wobbly bunk beds. Paying nearly £700 for 2 nights wasn’t expecting Surf Hostel standards!! Raised issue with on site female manager with pink hair told she’d arrange for housekeeping to put a double sofa bed in room instead as all rooms booked out. Next day this still hadn’t happened so raised issue again told she could only offer an apology. Asked for financial compensation as teenagers having to set up mattresses on floor to sleep and significant difference in price from standard to superior suites and told no. Asked for the Hotel Manager I a Curtis to call me to discuss further and still waiting. Also toilet blocked which reported to maintenance to fix and gross live silverfish in bathroom as not been cleaned good enough. Hotel has passed its time sadly, great location though. Breakfast good selection and tasty with pleasant sea views. Staff let place down.

Hotel was lovely and central for exploring the coast. Staff were lovely and very good breakfast. However it was disappointing that the jacuzzi wasn't working as this was one of the reasons we booked this hotel.

All Staff were lovely and helpful! Room very clean with plenty of teas/coffee/ soaps etc. Shower tricky to work temperature - not consistent plus shower head wasn’t stable so hard to prevent water going down back of bath. Would have also preferred fully opening windows, it was very restricted - although appreciate for safety. Disappointed sauna / steam room out of order majority of week but otherwise everything very good. I can’t rate the cleanliness of the hotel higher.

The views and location are super, the staff was really great - cheerful, nice, helpful. The hotel has great bones, high ceilings, beautiful windows and detail, and you can see how grand it was. It’s a bit tired and needs a little refresh (pool shower better than room shower, lift is being repaired, sauna not working maybe new carpets and some fresh paint, bath refresh would be super), but it was very comfortable and we loved our stay. We would certainly visit again. Nice heated pool. Lots of space. Big breakfast.

The property is quite dated, however the breakfast was excellent, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean There is a noise from outside if you are on the front of the building as it does get quite busy but nothing really to moan about Parking facilities very good and reasonable I will return when in the area again

While the property is dated and in need of some refurbishment, I really enjoyed my stay. The room was very comfortable, clean with enough space to unpack and not feel cramped. Everything worked well, slept great, very quiet at night, great hot water in the shower, nice towels. Service from the staff was excellent and very welcoming. Breakfast buffet was top notch. Can't beat the location in the very center of town and the price was excellent value. Highly recommend.

Checking in- Quick but things missed ie I am disabled so and I needed a disabled parking place I had called 4 days before and was told they would sort it when we arrived I was told the parking outside is for disabled guests I explained I have a blue badge and I noted this on my booking. This had been missed. Also we were given a room on second floor. With no lift in service. No notifications of no lift was given before we got there. We were told that we were sent an email to tell us that the lift was under maintenance. We never got anything from them. Once in our room for the duration we had no hot water so we had cold showers. We were staying 2 nights. When asked about the water we were told an emergency plumber was on the job. No one in hotel had hot water everyone was complaining. One the last day I asked about their complaints process I was asked to leave my details and the manager would contact me but I am waiting their call. Breakfast was good.
