La Selva Hotel

Our stay was great, friendly staff, great service and recommendations from Carlo, who knows everything around the area. Hotel has a restaurant, but there is another great restaurant right next to the entrance with great food and staff. The views from the hotel are beautiful, it is very quiet to sleep well and 30 minutes from Florence, free parking and close by train station. You definitely need a car.

The hotel was good, but the breakfast is the worst I have ever had in Italy and I have stayed in many hotels in Italy!

My organization hosted a multi-day conference at the hotel and our group had a great time. We appreciated the hospitality of the hotel and restaurant staff. Our group was well-served and we enjoyed being the only ones in this small country hotel. The staff worked with us to accommodate the needs of our group. We would certainly consider hosting another conference at La Selva and I would return there for personal stay.

We arrived after 1am at the hotel, after a six hour drive, and the manager greeted us warmly - despite us arriving well past our check-in time. The natural landscape around this small hotel was spectacular and it was a pleasant contrast to some of the busy locations that are full of tourists. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the free WiFi worked in our room, as advertised. A nice breakfast was offered every morning (including freshly baked cakes) and we were always offered coffee or tea throughout the day. It took us about 30-40 minutes to drive to Florence, which we did not mind at all. The only caution is when arriving late at night, the first time, the drive on the mountain can be a bit tricky for those not used to driving up mountains. Roads are narrow and it is very dark. My husband had no issue with the drive but I would have. After seeing the route in the daytime, the drive was much more comfortable up the mountain. We look forward to visiting again in the future. The staff were truly wonderful and made us feel at home. Thank you for a great experience!

View, location, staff, food: great!! Rooms could be nicer and cozier.

We had difficulty finding this hotel since it is in a very remote area outside Florence. The facility was very nice and well maintained.

It's ok but needs a swimming pool and a bar as in the day there is nothing to do at all, you must have a car if you want to say here, if you can speak Italian this will help you no end as English is not easy to get by on.

Only major bad points would be the beds and paper thin walls. Our 'double' room consisted of two single beds pushed together with a double sheet on top - not too comfortable for sleeping on. Our room was situated right next door to the cleaning staffs store cupboard which isn't great when they begin cleaning at the crack of dawn and the walls are paper thin. On the positive side, all staff were friendly and helpful and restaurant food was excellent. Bedroom very clean with a great view out the window. Not much surrounding the hotel other than hills and forest so very quiet (other than the thunderstorms!!) Lake Bilanchino worth a visit. No swimming pool which is a shame. Hotel family ran which was a nice touch. Free breakfast decent. Wifi coverage was also good.

Really friendly and multi lingual staff. Great position and easy access into florence! Really clean and comfortable. Only groan is that it could be a little more modern

This is a beautifully set Tuscan Hotel. Near Florence, but out in the countryside. We were blown away when we arrived.
