Lovely scenic lodge in the heart of the mountains with stellar staff and service. Rooms need some updating, but they are warm and cozy. The drive is quite an adventure to get there, so a 4 x 4 is a must-have.

Heaven for bird watchers! Beautiful mountain retreat - lovely ambiance in the bar. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was broken during my trip so had to cancel my spa booking.

Savegre is unique in the area for owing a private trail network which is super handy. The grounds of the hotel are also very pretty, and the upgraded restaurant and bar are nice hangouts. The two main issues are a boring cuisine (typical for Costa Rica) and somewhat old rooms that are not well ventilated and l smell of smoke (from the fireplaces)
