The hotel was comfortable and inviting… we had dinner there which was delicious

The unexpected £50 fee for my small dog which wasn’t mentioned at all at time of booking through booking.com After a delicious dinner the next morning cooked breakfast seemed to lack a bit of passion and flare

We loved the "snug" room at the front of the property and attention to detail with the personalised birthday message left in the room. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Overall excellent stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to explore Rye further!

Excellent welcome by reception staff. Decor in room pleasant. Good bed. Excellent bathroom.

Room was in attic, and though not at all cramped the window was small. No air conditioning - not surprising in converted old building but overall a problem. As we stayed on a very hot day (28C plus) the room remained unpleasantly hot until the early hours. Fan provided was not an adequate answer to this. For a nightly charge of £340 this was incredibly bad value. Despite hotel acknowledging request for 2 single beds (which I have retained) it was claimed the message had not been received. Whilst I understand hotels cannot necessarily meet this kind of request it appeared it was simply ignored. More minor points - housekeeping not great - a previous occupant's sock under chest of drawers, shirt collar stiffener in wardrobe, etc.. Whilst breakfast cooked selection extensive we prefer continental, and choice not wide.

Um 23 Uhr sprang eine Maschine (Ventilator?) über unserem Zimmer an. Gegen Mitternacht benachrichtigte ich den Nachtportier, der sich daraufhin in unser Zimmer bemühte. Er konnte sich das Geräusch nicht erklären, versprach aber im Zimmer über uns nachzufragen. Das Geräusch hielt bis 8 Uhr morgens an, sodass es unmöglich war weiterzuschlafen. Meine Frau verließ das Zimmer nach 2 Stunden und verbrachte den Rest der Nacht im Auto. Ich werde bei Booking.com die Rückerstattung des Zimmerpreises beantragen.

Beautifully presented, decor was lovely, reception staff were charming and attentive, room was well appointed and very stylishly decorated with all the nice comfort touches. Great location right in the middle of vibrant Rye. We couldn’t have asked for more

Location fantastic and the hotel is very nice

Breakfast was very poor for the price and the additional £50/night charge for a dog was extreme based on what you got for it. I did agree to it, so I can't or didn't complain.

Stylish and comfortable

Maybe the sitting areas downstairs could have more comfy chairs!

Very comfortable beds and pillows. Excellent breakfast. Lovely staff.

Rather a lot of noise outside idling engines and cars and vans being loaded. Doors slamming and loud talking. I imagine de rigging form the wedding so kept me awake until about 2am. Our room was Street facing (as requested) and happened to be very near the front door. Basically I think if the if the team could of considered more that people would be trying to sleep maybe that would of helped,
