"Charming Stay"

10.0

We loved the lodging. The historic home is beautiful. We stayed in one of the renovated carriage house rooms. The hosts were so responsive and thoughtful. We loved their local recommendations too.

"Home away from home in Asheville"

Such a great spot. Felt like home away from home. Walking distance to downtown. Would definitely stay here again. Great coffee and breakfast included

"Well designed, but poorly executed"

8.0

With a Michelin Key, I had high expectations. The common spaces take the cake here. Very thoughtfully designed, with fireplaces blazing and music playing during "open" hours. Complimentary breakfast items (like granola bars, yogurt, fruit, bagels), coffee, snacks, and games cabinet are accessible to every guest. And the staff are all very friendly. However, the rooms were a 3 for us. The bed was too soft (we both left with back pain), which I recognize is a personal preference, so that wasn't taken into consideration in my overall review. The nature of an old house means light seeps through the door cracks, everything creaks, and the window AC unit tries it's hardest but can't really property distribute air flow through the room. Our sink was also in the bedroom and our fireplace didn't work. All of these things I could have chalked up to 'quirks' of a reimagined Asheville estate, but the lack of in-room amenities was a big bummer for us. No TV (which makes sense because of noise concerns), no amenities (no coffee, snacks, or anything in room), and no wine or beer on property, anywhere, not even for purchase downstairs, made it impossible to actually enjoy the property. We would have loved to come back and buy a bottle of wine and read by the fireplace, but again, no option for that. Seemed like a silly oversight at a 4-star hotel. And yes, there were robes in the closet, but I need coffee to function (like many), so that meant having to put on clothes and shoes before going downstairs to get coffee. Overall, the design of the hotel is charming and quirky, I just expected more from a Michelin Key holding, 4-star hotel, in a competitive hospitality city like Asheville.

The Table (cottage) was so dreamy. Peaceful, relaxing, beautiful, cozy. Feels like a little oasis in a great neighborhood.

Everything was so thoughtfully curated and the room was exceptionally clean. The only choice if you’re staying in Asheville. I will definitely be back.

"The key to an awesome stay in Asheville."

10.0

I recently went to Asheville to see how the recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene were going and to spend money at local businesses. I was going to stay at my normal chain hotel, but a friend suggested I stay at the Blind Tiger, a boutique hotel. I had never heard of it, but liked what I saw online. I can say online pictures don’t do this place justice. The ambience and vibe is top notch and it is only matched by the staff. Carolyn and Erica were so welcoming, gave a great tour of the building, and made sure they gave business suggestions depending on what I wanted to see, eat or do in the city. They even sent text messages to make sure everything was good with my stay. Also, a part I love was there were no television in the room. I also learned the building is on the national register of historic places. Plus the hotel is one of the first hotels awarded a key in the newly created Michelin Key guide for hotels. I suggest a stay here when visiting Asheville or if you need to just get away and catch a vibe.
