Kona Reef Resort

Its right on the water. Easy walking to ABC store, shops and resteraunts. Much better than staying at a hotel. The unit has full kitchen and washer/dryer. It was a good price too!

Lovely location. Walking distance to all the fun of Kona. Easy access to major roads. Our particular room was a bit dated (bathroom in particular), but a super clean room with lovely decor and a killer view (onto the beach). Would stay again!

Overall, we found the resort nice, with an incredible ocean view and sound, clean grounds, great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The unit we stayed in was on top floor, great view. Easy walk to several restaurants, bars and stores, and a bit longer walk to all the attractions in Kailua-Kona village. Free parking if you rent a car. Resort is next to nice public beach, surfing, etc. Downside was the unit we stayed in - private owner (about 1/3 of the condo units were privately owned, managed by the resort, the rest were resort owned). The unit (all in the property have the same design as best I could tell) was basically fine, just old and about worn out. Badly needs a refresh - paint, carpet, trim and fittings haven't been redone or replaced in years, and it shows, kinda like your own home after 15 to 20 years of living in it. Not an uncommon issue with vacation rental condos.

Very comfortable & amazing sunset from the patio. Pool & grill area is kept very clean & always found a parking spot. Faye gave us great snorkeling advice!

Good condo close to (within walking distance) Kona restaurants, bars and shops; partial sea view and views of pool. Pre-arrival instructions could have been e-mailed, which would have been helpful, however had to phone Hawaii from the UK to confirm arrangements. No point leaving a message, as the company does not make international calls. Local staff were very helpful; grounds and pool were kept very tidy and clean. Room was excellent size and had all amenities, whilst tidy and basically clean, the room could do with a deep clean.

I would come back again to this resort. The room and staff were good. One complaint that i have is that they should have a procedure if you lock yourself out you dont have to wait 2 and half hours before you go back to your room.

This place was great overall. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. When we first arrived, I was a little skeptical because the hallway leading to our front door was very dark. There were some dim LED lights that came on with a motion sensor, but I wish there was better permanent lighting. I got used to it though. Our unit, A11, was nicely decorated and looked out on the ocean. This location can't be beat... it was amazing. Although the building feels old, the unit had a nice updated kitchen and updated bathrooms. The second bedroom was tiny, but I suppose that's to be expected. It took a while for me to adjust to being so close to the water... the sound of the waves is really loud and everything feels a little sticky because of the moisture. There was A/C, thankfully, though it was also very loud when running. I get the feeling that different units may have different owners and be set up with varying furniture and perhaps different degrees of upkeep, so your experience may vary. The resort is about a 10-minute walk to shops and restaurants. Oh and there was a parking lot and garage so parking was no problem. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot.

If you are looking for a beach, this is not the place to stay. The office staff was very friendly, but didn't understand that we had already paid through Orbitz and wanted to charge us again when we checked in. It was great having a full kitchen in our unit (D36).

Large clean condo. Beautiful ocean view. Fully stocked. Wifi. Tv with amazon, netflix. Snorkel, fins, books, cameras, binoculors. Comfortable beds. Air conditioner but lovely breeze from ocean. Needed more toilet paper.

Great location, has clean amenities and on the ocean beside a beach with a pool ... u can walk to everything!staff was fabulous to assure a easy after hours arrival!
