Shower over bath didn’t work. Plenty of water but the “diverted” from bath taps to shower couldn’t be operated. This was not discovered until the morning so had to resort to a bath. Reception informed when booking out

Great food and beer . Swimming included . Breakfast 5 out 10 and sausages could do with a little longer in the oven . Rooms clean and staff friendly. Massive grounds

I upgraded our meal to 3 course and was sent a set menu to choose from. On arrival for dinner , at the door we were told by the host to rather have Buffet as you get 3 courses anyway and we would not have to pay to upgrade and this is actually a better option. Then we were taken to a 2 seat table in the middle of a sewing convention group of nearly 120 people, I could hardly hear my husband over the noise. I was not happy as I wanted the meal experience that was presented to me as 3 Course not Buffett. and that we were specifically made to book a table for in advance . We were eventually assisted by the manager who took us into a quiet room with a more intimate setting. We then were given a menu, totally different to the one we were sent , At this stage I felt very awkward, it just seemed that I had to correct everyone and that I’m coming across as difficult. So then we were again assisted by the manager to get the menu we had agreed upon when booking. Our food was ordered, the starters were amazing, my husband had pork belly main, exceptional. I ordered home made meatballs and fettuccine, when it arrived it was tough reheated meatballs on spaghetti!!. At this stage I was not going to bring this up as it felt as if everything was just chaotic. For Dessert I asked for cheddar cheese/crackers, I got Eden cheese instead, at this stage my husband and I just started laughing. I was still charged the upgrade for the meal!!!, that was not even the meal in the menu!! I just feel that it’s almost as if because I’d bought this stay through Wowcher that we were considered not as important as “normal paying guests”. I hate complaining but why drop your standards when it’s your Establishment that advertises itself on Wowcher Deals.

Great location, great onsite pool, great breakfast.

Bed a tad uncomfortable (room 137) and pillows needed renewing. Clean though. Shower powerful and hot but difficult to turn on/off.
