This place is an amazing bed and breakfast. Originally opened in 1920 the newest owner is a very sharp lady from Napa who bought a decade ago and keeps the closest of watch on it daily (maybe hourly). Just 9 rooms I think, everything upstairs, shops on bottom level. She owns the block of business. Great Old Elevator for getting UP to rooms and 2 special gathering rooms. You can get easily, within minutes to the charms of Manzanita, through Nehalem or down to the beachey bars of Rockaway or bit further to the cheese of Tillamook. Then back each night to this quiet hidden gem of Wheeler and The Old Wheeler Inn. Hardly hidden though in that Pacific Coast Highway is in its Front Door. Views out the front even Spanish Explorers must have found delightful. (but they had to sleep on their ships). Each room a DVD player and Katie has one of the best collections of Current and OLD Hollywood delights. I watched Citizen Kane (Orson Welles) on the Night of 4th of July. Put this spot, on your Bucket List, then move it higher up to get there sooner.

"What a darling hotel with all the right touches!"

10.0

A peaceful circa 1940's style environment where children and animals are absent and guests are invited to relax or celebrate in the comforts of the hotel offerings or by exploring the majestic Oregon coast.

"Reflection of our stay at the Old Wheeler Hotel"

4.0

The Hotel was good in many ways but because it was a hot and humid day and the Air Conditioning did not work, we were unable to sleep and my husband was actually sick because of it which was scary. The next day was much cooler but the hotel was still very humid and we had to leave the windows wide open which helped but still did not solve the problem. Also when the Windows were open there was the noise from the traffic and a security problem of leaving the room vulnerable to 'break ins'. The staff were unable to fix the problem themselves. We were unable to sleep for the two nights which ruined our stay completely as it left us with so little energy.

"Improving.."

This old hotel is a lovely property right across from the Oregon Coast. It is a small town with character. We had some service problems which the owner has graciously promised us to improve for our next visit.

We loved the peace of the Wheeler Inn. The hospitality was amazing, and the setting gorgeous. We enjoyed a great meal next door at the Rising Star Cafe too.

Nice attempt at re/creating an old charm place. Turned up rather stuffy. There is nothing in the town to do/see.

"What a nice change from the chain hotels! "

10.0

Loved the atmosphere - hotel staff was wonderful! Loved the personal phone greeting to confirm the reservation. Loved the personalized welcome sign on our room door. Great antique stores next door. Felt more like a B&B than a hotel. Where else can you get china instead of Styrofoam cups for your morning continental breakfast!

This is a little gem! Lovingly restored, and immaculate, we truly enjoyed our stay here. The host, Rob, could not have been nicer or more accommodating.

"small town, lovely hotel"

10.0

Excellent spot in a quiet area. Enjoyed the view of the bay even though it was rainy and cold. I especially liked the fact that there were not many people around. It was cozy warm with a multitude of terrific lamps and a piano in the parlor. The Continental Breakfast was excellent, the Proprietor was very nice and helpful, everything was very clean and inviting. I would definitely revisit this spot.
