GBAfter a long drive South from Calais, we didn't spend long in the room before making for the pool for a welcome dip. Our room had a lovely view out over the car park and surrounding industrial buildings, but to be fair most city hotels lack a sea view. Our room was ok, a decent sized double bed and single sofa bed, TV (never switched on), kettle, basic stove and a fridge. The kitchenette had enough pots and pans to cook a simple meal and eat in on the table and chairs (or out on the balcony), but being so near the town we ate out at night and picked up breakfast on our way to the beach. The staff were welcoming and the hotel & room were clean and reasonably priced. It's also just 5 minutes walk to either; the Marina heading West or North for views out over the town; or just a straight 10 minutes walk to the centre / Vieux Port, which is fantastic and worth a tour of the Tours (Towers)! It's about a 20 minute drive to the bridge to the Ile de Re, which you must visit if you're anywhere near La Rochelle. Overall a decent, reasonably priced, well located (unless you like to be really central) hotel with a small pool. A good base to explore the area for a few days, which we did before heading South to Bordeaux.
This hotel has a lot of improvements to do. When you can't get air-condition in the room in July, because of some renovation. No cleaning of room. Neither new towels or toilet paper was brought to the room, even after asking for it. Location is ok. Just few minutes from city center.
They mixed up and charged me at the origin in the UK and then at the destination at the hotel. It caused anxiety and inconvenience for us. Rooms could have been much cleaner. Some guests with dirty pets walking around and some loud young people, not the best place for families. Location was good.
These apartments are well situated to explore La Rochelle on foot. A ten minute walk takes you to the centre in one direction and to the marina and beaches in the other. There are so many bars, restaurants and shops to visit. Locally, there is a small supermarket to provide all you need for self catering. Truly, a perfect accommodation option.

The hotel is in a new area of La Rochelle but is very close to the modern marina and to the old city - only a short walk from each. Good self-catering option with secure parking but let down by a tiny thing: there was only a tiny amount of washing-up liquid in the kitchen for a family for a 4-day stay and we asked twice for more but none was provided. We went out to buy our own. Service otherwise was good.
I booked this because it said 4 star on the Expedia website. The accommodation is very poor. Basic beadrooms with woodchip paper, cheap thin carpets, chipboard bathrooms, a toilet which is so close to the wall that you have to sit sideways on it. Overall this is 2 star with a pool. Best avoided
outstanding welcome, helpful, friendly - great staff!!! Wish I could have stayed longer (in warmer weather) to enjoy the pool. Would recommend / go back in a heartbeat!
La rochelle is a fabulous location and so much to do and see there.
Super huge room, very spacious. Kitchen is nice too. You have everything you need. Super close to the city centre too.
