"A Lovely Experience Ruined By Poor Customer Service"

6.0

I would DEARLY love to give this place 5 stars! The place oozes charm and it's in a great location! However, when confronted with a problem that created an unsafe situation, the owner, Laura Yepez basically told me to suck it up. When I asked for a courtesy for a sleepless night and an unsafe situation, I was told "We can't do that!" The answer was flatly no and I was offered a 50% discount for a future stay. Now, honestly, why would I take the chance on my next trip to Chicago to deal with an owner who refused to "make it right". As a former business owner, keeping clients happy was my first responsibility. There's a HUGE difference between "cannot" and "will not". She would not budge and I will never go back !

"Good experience"

Good area to stay in with several main streets nearby. We stayed in the Wolcott room downstairs. The room was very clean, quaint and decorated tastefully. Our accommodations were all we needed for 2 days in Chicago. The homemade breakfast breads were delicious. Overall our stay was very nice!

Great hotel B&B, clean & comfortable. Location good but they should disclose how close it is to the overground L line...trains right next to the breakfast room. Free earplugs a sly touch. I only wish they had a recycling bin... otherwise a great stay in Chicago.

Beautiful property and friendly staff. The only criticism I had was breakfast wasn’t always ready at 7 and it would have been nice to have some healthy options like fruit. It would have also been nice if there had been a few board or card games available for guests to use.

"Great Location, Personal Touch"

8.0

Cute spot! Wicker Park is a great area to walk around - lots of shops, restaurants and easy access to other parts of the city with the Blue Line! Good size room with lots of space to unpack + a great bed. Breakfast is basic: coffee, juice, pound cake, etc. and is available 8am-10am. It would have been nice to have this available a bit earlier on weekdays, as I had to commute in early. Communication with staff could have been better - after being told check-in was not until 2pm, reception then closed at 3pm the day I arrived. No one answered the phone or doorbell initially and I hadn't received virtual check-in instructions.
