Residence Inn Silver Spring

Very friendly staff! They welcomed us the moment I checked in. My stay was for my wedding weekend, and they definitely made the stay well worth it! Rooms are clean and spacious! Staff is very helpful. Thank you so much!

I stayed in The Residence Inn at Plum Dr last year and the year before. Since then changes have been made that caused Mr 2 rating. I also stayed this year at The Residence Inn in Greenbelt. They are about 15 minutes apart but I would much rather be at the Greenbelt location. First let me say that the staff in both places are wonderful. It is the management changes at Plum that has ruined the place. First, at Plum parking is $12 a day! Greenbelt is free. House cleaning is every other day at Plum, Greenbelt it is every day. Plum is very stingy on essential like dishwasher detergent, soap etc. Greenbelt is very generous. The laundry at Plum is terrible. You need quarters and dryers were terrible. Took my clothes and went to a laundromat. Greenbelt they work fine and you just scan the code and pay with Apple Pay. And what is really different is the food and atmosphere at breakfast. Plum has fake eggs, only two fruits and very limited, yogurt is tiny activias. At Greenbelt, there are always apples, oranges and bananas. Yogurt is the Chibani. Eggs are real. One day a week there is fried chicken and waffles. There is a choice of pork or chicken sausages, biscuits and gravy, fried eggs etc. Plum has Fox News on constantly in the main room. In Greenbelt the local station is on with weather and events around DC. The person in charge of breakfast at Plum just stands in the doorway watch. At Greenbelt he goes around and greets everyone. He clears away plates if you are finished, give little treats to small children and people interact with him and others . These hotels are both Marriotts, both have wonderful staff and are just minutes apart but Greenbelt is soooooo much better.

It was clean and the convenience of shopping. Parking should have been free due to availability, but still convenient.

This is a haven in Maryland Definitely, come back is a must Imagine in a suburb area, you are crossing the street to to a Shopping center! Could not be better Saving a lot!

Staff wasn’t knowledgeable didn’t explain about incidentals or parking charge that I wasn’t aware about until after checkout , also wanted to pay with different payment and card kept declining because of staff not being knowledgeable of how to perform split payment , no management on site to assist

Property is clean.

First, the night concierge (Feleke(?)) accused us of photoshopping the screenshot from booking reservation. This hotel is old and needs serious updating . We frequently stay at Marriott hotels and this one is the oldest looking rooms we have stayed at. Also this location is far from DC downtown, it’s about 40 - 50 minutes drive. Amenities are also lacking. Laundry machines only take quarters ($3 per load and another $3 to dry; 45 minutes). Pools close at 8PM (they put chain padlocks on the gate), there’s a basketball min court but when it gets dark the court is dark too eventhough there’s court lights they do not turn it on. Breakfast ends at 8AM (we didn’t even bother going). Parking is not free, $12/ overnight.
