Travelodge by Wyndham Oakley

Honestly, my stay was like that of a 1980's horror film intro. It was thunderstorming and somewhere after 11pm when I checked in. I used the front desk phone that just called to another phone not 5 feet away behind the desk to check in. The attendant sleepily came around in a couple minutes I could tell I had just woken her up from a deep sleep. I hand over my ID and do the usual motel check in. She gives me my key card and I head to my room. Mind you I booked a room with one king bed. I enter and its 2 full beds and a side room with a king. Not, what I was expecting. But, it's late I'm exhausted and I figured I got an upgrade. I set my things dow nand start to settle in. I undress and am about to head to the shower when I hear loud pounding on my door. Then I hear the keycard beep and the door thrusts open with force. Luckily I had latched the door and I am just able to mutter "HELLO?!" as I'm standing there naked. A woman starts to yell at me.. "WHO ARE YOU!? YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE A RESERVATION! YOU NEED TO GET OUT! THIS ISN'T YOUR ROOM!" By that time I had recognised her as the front desk woman. I reply that that I'm not clothed and will be there in a moment while she continues to berate me and bang on the door. I dress myself and open the door for her. She storms into the room berating me for being there IN THE ROOM SHE GAVE ME A KEY FOR and telling me this isn't my room and that she doesn't have a reservation for me and that I need to get out because the person who's room this was just checked in. I calmly tell her I do have a reservation and show her my phone with the reservation pulled up. At which point she demands I go down to the office with her. I gather my things hurriedly. I follow her to the office where the person who did reserve the room was. This whole time I'm being very congenial and appeasing because honestly I have nowhere else to go at this late at night. After the attendant sorts out the other person they leave to go to the room I was just in. Now the attendant has, I assume, her boss on the phone saying she has someone here who doesn't have a reservation. Mid sentence she says "Oh there you are. You're right there." So, I end up getting the room I booked. To top it off once I was in the room there was a phone in the adjoining room that kept ringing for like 30 min that was straight out of a 1980's slasher film. Then what I, again, can only assume was the ventilation unit started working but sounded like a large creature breathing and watching above me. I eventually fell asleep out of exhaustion from the day and the recent altercation. Needless to say I will not be returning. #PTSD I gave a 2 rating because the rooms were actually very nice and well maintained, but the experience was the worst I've ever had.

A solo trip for two days, the bed was firm but comfortable the property overall was in rough shape for the price point.

The manager/receptionist here was great! She was helpful and accommodating to requests. But the property needs some attention. Everything was clean enough, but there were several maintenance issues that need to be addressed.

This place is in very poor condition. The stairway had a huge busted glass window with large broken shards. Big overflowing maggots garbage can directly outside our door. Room itself was clean but old and stained and falling apart. The front desk man was friendly and the beds were comfortable so that’s a plus but this was grossly over priced for its condition.

This property was recently added to the Wyndham group. The sign did not have the Windham name. this property is not close to Wyndham standards. Windham should dump this property because it will give them a bad name. Stay away.

The place was generally clean, but here was dust on surfaces. The breakfast was meager and not very appetizing. Very small breakfast area. Nice people.

Got a good nights sleep.
