Mercure Siracusa Prometeo

The hotel was in a good location of a Sicily for what we wanted to do. The staff were all helpful and kind. The swimming pool is brilliant and you get the most amazing views all over.

Enjoyable stay, having the pool was great. As advertised, friendly staff and very helpful.

We stayed in the hotel for 10 nights in September and would stay there again. Large comfortable clean rooms. Excellent friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was good with a wide choice. We had a couple of good evening meals there but the evening menu is quite limited. The hotel is easy to find and well situated near the Archaeological Park and only a 10 minute walk from the main part of town. Parking was free but occasionally full. Small swimming pool on the roof and a health spa underground (which we didn't visit as not included). All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Access to city sites by bus and walking makes this a great location. Driving in and out of the Ciy because of the location is very easy. So drive to the city park your car free and have a great time.

Nice hotel, good condition overall, room was clean and cool. Thought it was a bit far out of Ortigia (bit of a trek on foot, need a taxi or a shuttle bus if you can figure out which one). Pool was just OK to cool off. Hotel is on the right side of town for the Greek Theatre, and oarking was very tight but a relief to have.

Nice hotel, well located close to the main atractions

The hotel is walking distance from the archaeological park. It has secure parking and great views from the roof top pool and bar. The staff were incredibly helpful - they called our car hire company for us and helped us sort out a puncture repair.

Near the Neopolis Archeological Park,a must see visit,also near to Archeological Museum,the coin collection is fantastic (I'm not in to coin collecting)and the lady in charge of this area was also tremendously helpful.Ortigia the old town is a 30 minute walk from the hotel,great to walk to in April/May but a bit hot in July/August!!! Hotel near to hospital so lots of ambulances and sirens along with loads of commuting traffic outside the hotel on the main road,after saying this the rooms are well insulated for sound and have air con,roof top pool a bonus with sunbathing loungers. One or two local restaurants near hotel that are good and also good bus service into Otigia every 20 mins (or so)make sure if you hire a car do NOT to use Golcar, they are a set of pirates!!!they are cheaper than most but they will stiff you for extras if you are not careful. Otigia full of narrow interesting streets,good views,little restaurants,YOU MUST try the Scilly Fast Food Fish and Chip Shop,fantastic,you can eat out side,mixed fried fish to order with fantastic chips,wine,for two about 15 euros,about a third what you would pay and as good if not better than some of the restaurants!

The hotel was close to the Ancient sites. Not many restaurant in the vicinity but were recommended to one by a member of staff which was excellent. Service was a bit hit and miss but overall it was a pleasant stay.

Friendly staff, nice rooms and bathrooms. Not a whole lot to do in the neighborhood though. Parking could be less tight, but considering location, it works well (for compact cars). They also have a nice breakfast spread (€10 if not included in your rate)!
