The Elgin Kintore Arms, Inverurie

I’ve stayed here several times, it’s a wee bit tired but the staff are lovely as is the food. Very good value for money.

Although clean, the carpet, furniture was worn or damaged. The plumbing was noisy all night, the en suit bathroom was industrial- a bit like one you would find at a service station, you could also hear everything going on outside the door and finally we came back to find that our door was open after we had left it locked. It could be a great hotel - there are few in Inverurie and no other 3 stars we could see. They need to spend money investing in both the look and feel of the hotel.

The hotel is very run down. Our rooms were like loft rooms with only 1 velux in the ceiling. Rooms very small and hot. Bathroom smelt damp and taps leaked. Has potential to be an amazing hotel, but needs money spent.

Good stay,Rooms nousy with all the toilet masseraters you can here. food good, service would have been poor but for the poor lass working the night of our stay. She checked us in then serving drinks in the lounge, checkingyou were bookec for meal and seating you, taking orders, drinks, clearing tables serving, back to reception and bar and so on again and again. Didnt see her stop all night. Deserves a pay rise.

Cheap n cheerful. Clean but could do.with upgrading. Breakfast was nice and staff were friendly. We stayed for 1 night because my wife was competing in a horse riding competition near by. It was perfect for what we needed.

Hotel bit tired

Overall staff were very helpful and friendly, however we returned to the hotel one night at 22:45 to find the doors locked and found ourselves waiting around for 15 minutes ringing the doorbell and eventually having to call the hotel reception before the very grumpy night porter eventually let us in! Also no notification at time of booking that rooms were not being serviced!! Having to constantly ask for coffee,sugar,milk,cups,clean towels, toilet paper was a bit of a nightmare especially given the fact that the hotel appeared to be hugely understaffed! Disappointing as we have stayed here a few times in the past and we can honestly say standards have definitely slipped.

Breakfast was good and all Covid guidelines adhered to. Although the rooms are basic, they are clean and the service was excellent. You get exactly what you pay for - fair prices. I would definitely use it again.
