Hilton Grand Vacations Club Kohala Suites Waikoloa

We had a great time. The hotel staff were great and very helpful. The location to the places we wanted to see was good.

I would highly recommend Kohala Suites. The suites are beautifully decorated and not outdated. There is a shuttle to take tou to the shops and restaurants if you don’t have a rental car. Only recommendation would be a pillow menu or different pillow types in the unit. We will definitely be back!

Our family is 5 (4 adults and 1 child) recently stayed here for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom suite. We had a great stay! The suite was fabulous! It definitely felt more like a condo. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need, including paper towels, dish soap, and a dishwasher with detergent. The living room was perfect for the 5 of us. The master bedroom was beautiful with a shower and jacuzzi tub. The balcony had a full dining set and two lounge chairs. We enjoyed sitting out there looking at the golf course and pool. We enjoyed the main pool with a small water slide and a snack bar where you could get food/drinks. If you buy the cup there you can get refills for only $10! I did this and it was a great deal! The food offerings were huge but they did the trick - hot dogs, sandwiches, and pizzas. We also took advantage of the privilege of being able to go to the sister resort down the road where we could use their lagoon to swim with sea turtles and do activities like paddle boarding. Plus their pool has a large slide! The location was perfect for us! There are two sets of shops just down the road. Those had a few good restaurants and an Island Gourmet where we got groceries and even a full steak dinner one night! Hapuna Beach was only 10 minutes down the road, as was a delicious Malasada truck! Kona was 30 minutes away. Having traveled around the entire island, I think Waikoloa is a great area to stay in. And I would absolutely recommend the Kohala Suites to anyone looking to save a little money while still having access to the amenities at their sister resort! It certainly didn’t feel like a step down at all.

Very nice quiet resort. Room, facilities, and especially the pool we're beautiful. They'll try and lure you into a timeshare, but we avoided that. The area around it was very nice and you have full use of all the nearby hilton properties and amenities. The dining nearby was overpriced and underwhelming. The shopping nearby was also incredibly overpriced, drive 15-20min out of the area and your basics are half the price, or better. I would definitely stay again!

Hilton Kohala Suites in Waikoloa came highly recommended. Unfortunately it did not meet our expectations. The pros: if you are looking for a family friendly place, that is not too fussy, this may fit the bill. There is a shuttle to the larger resort which is huge. You can use all the facilities there. The cons: Suites aren’t so nice and the grounds around our building could use attention. The suite we were given was ok(not great), clean, located in the building just adjacent to the lobby. We asked for a building further away and on an upper floor, but the gal just said she could not do that. We paid for a golf view room but we received a ground level room that basically had a pile of lava in the patio area as our view. We enjoy having coffee on the patio in the morning and a drink in the evening, so looking at what looks like a pile of dirt is not appealing. We check the morning after we arrived and while this gal was more understanding, she could not find an upper floor unit for us for the remainder of our stay. It would be fine if we weren’t paying top dollar for this as it was supposed to be a better location. Pool area is nice, small, plenty of kids, do be aware. We are making the best of it because it’s fine overall, just not for what we paid. I won’t return nor would I recommend. Will post a picture our ‘golf view’.

This was a great spot for the family. The unit was clean, updated and spacious. Grill facilities were clean and maintained. Staff was friendly and courteous. The kids enjoyed the pool. Free passes to the Hilton Waikoloa resort were included, and the shuttle to and from the resort was also a plus.

We spent a wonderful week at HVC Waikola The apartment was well appointed. Loved the use of the hotel and the shopping areas. We would definitely come back.
